Today in the Netherlands they have to splash water on steel bridges to cool them down and avoid damage from the extreme heat.
The costs of extreme weather are grossly underestimated now and in the future.

The future we want
Anyone who tries to argue climate change with you, just pull up this.
Not about no AC’s no more.
This is about future generations being able to grow food in europe or not.
@jawwwn_@peterthiel Peter’s assessment is inaccurate. As my posts show, I have never wavered in believing that we should make life multiplanetary.
Now, more than ever.
in what world is concrete, plastic structures and non native plants ecology restoration ?
accessible is great , means more chips, biscuit packets thrown around
Reconnecting Surat with the sea! The Dumas Sea Face Masterplan is transforming a fragmented shoreline into a continuous, resilient, and vibrant public waterfront. A beautiful step toward restoring local ecology and creating an accessible coastline for everyone. #Surat

Vertical gardens in these spaces is waste of public money - it means just contracts. Some native native trees/shrubs will withstand heat, still grow and not need costly maintenance
Noida launched its vertical garden initiative in 2018 at several locations, including Kalindi Kunj and metro pillars across the city. However, due to poor maintenance over the years, many of these gardens are now in a neglected condition. At several locations, plants have overgrown, dried up, or died, while several flower pots are missing, leaving the structures unattractive.

@KesariDhwaj Chinese are currently the most successful industrialised nation on earth. when it comes to defence capabilities just learn from them -build never import. Its not tough to see what succeeds. Everything else is just hypothetical including your analysis.
If Steve Jobs were still alive, he would have the moral authority to face and maybe even to solve this problem. But I doubt anyone in the phone business now does.
Thirst knows no boundaries. This bear in Koppal (Karnataka) was caught on camera searching for water in a plastic tub as the forests dry up. A clear sign of the devastating impact of the rising temperatures on our wildlife.
Our forests are parched and our wildlife is suffering. Are we even bothered about climate change yet? Time is running out for these animals.

Meanwhile, @commr_csmc who made you an IAS? This is so inhumane. Get some life pls.
Thats like doing 420: 100m sprints each at ~17 secs. People who have even done a single 100M sprint...will know doing 420! sprint back to back is bonkers level..wth just happened
Dr. Nene, that treadmill perspective is incredible.
Most people can’t hold 13 mph for even 60 seconds. In training, I sometimes run short high-intensity intervals at that speed for about 120 seconds, and that alone feels like a proper workout 😂
He essentially held the equivalent of that pace for 42 kilometers, and in several splits he was even faster. 😮
And I genuinely think the vast majority of people don’t yet grasp the scale of what just happened. This isn’t just a fast marathon. It’s a monumental leap in human endurance 💪
