His double standards remain legendary. He stands on the pulpit and abhors the politics of insults, yet he called his predecessor "Akyem Mafia", "Akyem Sakawa Boys", and "Jack Toronto".

He also sponsored people to insult his political adversaries and benefited from the same, including the likes of Kelvin Kwasia Gyimefo) Taylor, and used the Supreme Court to advance the quashing of the warrant of arrest placed on Kelvin Taylor, allowing him to become a free man 👨🧍‍♂️👨‍👧, all because he was the largest beneficiary of the sustained insults.

The likes of Sammy Gyamfi, Samuel Nartey George, Malik Basintale, and, worst of all, the elevation of Rosemond Obeng to the Office of the Chief of Staff.

Mr President, for heaven's sake, stop preaching holiness because you are so hypocritical, and you have no conscience to preach morality. Standards need to be measured by the outcome of our actions, yet you have the audacity, despite your amplified impunity, to act holy. Your "holier-than-thou" attitude is sickening, and I think your reputation for speaking on this subject has already been besmirched.

Samson makes valid points in this submission. It is, perhaps, the most sincere commentary I have seen or heard on this issue so far. I agree with Samson. It reeks of hypocrisy to arrest people for insults when you yourself insulted your way into power, or have been a major beneficiary of this caustic, dishonourable conduct in our media space.

The bigger problem, however, is the subculture of insults that has crept in and, unfortunately, become entrenched in our body politic. Those of us who have followed events in the 4th Republic closely know that the main political parties stand accused of this aberration.

We also know that some of the most insulting, uncouth, and uncultured voices are the very ones rewarded with appointments to public office. This ungodly standard has been hailed by the political class and the elite. And it cannot be cured by police arrests, prosecutions, or jail terms.

To all of you in politics: denounce insults. Reject them. Call out your own people who resort to insults instead of intellect. Do not quietly cheer them on or benefit from them, only to turn around and cage people for being insulting once you are in power.

The way to deal with this self-inflicted, ugly monster is for us — if we all mean well — to show leadership. Stop insulting opponents. Encourage your followers to be civil in their discourse. No Ghanaian culture extols lies, insults, and disrespect. Yet here we are, struggling with what our own cherished culture prohibits.

Let the political class take responsibility. Let them be the first to model civility, and their supporters will learn. Laws on defamation, slander, and the publication or broadcast of falsehoods have their place. But they cannot fully cure what has become a moral problem, chiefly fuelled by the misbehaviour of our political leaders. They must know better.

Let the political class end the hypocrisy. Begin to set good examples — in public and everywhere you are. You are not bad parents at home. So do not, in public, reward, protect, or defend your most insulting supporters with appointments. That only sends the message that the more you insult others, the more likely you are to be appointed.

Nkɔkɔ Nkitinkiti was one of this government’s flagship campaign promises. It was presented as a programme to improve livelihoods, create jobs, improve the poultry sector and strengthen food security.

Long before what the Sector Minister confirmed days ago, I kept asking one question. Where is the programme document for Nkɔkɔ Nkitinkiti?

Every serious programme begins with a clear implementation plan. Who qualifies? Who supervises? What risks were identified? How would beneficiaries be monitored? How would success be measured?

The Minister has now confirmed that some beneficiaries consumed the chickens instead of the initial project goal.

This raises serious questions about whether the programme had the level of planning, implementation discipline, monitoring, and accountability expected of a national initiative.

Government cannot win votes with campaign promises and then treat implementation of a campaign promise as an afterthought.

This Nkɔkɔ Nkitinkiti may lead to a severe waste waste of taxpayers money more than the Nkonfem saga
