My friend needs help. He just turned a consultant Opthalmologist (eye doctor) and a father of 3 kids. He developed this rare cancer of the eye.
I mean extremely rare that most doctors we have contacted globally haven't dealt with it.

I’ve just read the sad story of a young nigerian medical doctor and eye specialist Dr. Idris, who has sadly developed eye cancer. He needs our help to save his life and save his eyes if possible.

Dr Idris is a graduate of the College of Medicine, Ibadan. He is a brilliant young ophthalmologist who has dedicated his life to giving sight back to thousands of people in need.

Tragically, he developed concerning symptoms in his own eyes, and now faces a life-altering diagnosis: a very rare, deadly eye cancer that threatens not only his own vision but his very life - the diagnosis is a malignant melanoma of the lacrimal gland.

He has undergone one surgery and has received 3 doses of immunotherapy so far, costing over 13 million naira, yet t bye disease is rapidly progressing & he needs urgent specialized treatment overseas- further surgery, immunotherapy & radiotherapy. This comes at an overwhelming cost - $150,000, an unimaginable amount, far beyond his salary or reach in a developing country.

Despite the challenges, Idris is resilient and determined to beat this disease. Friends, Idris needs us. Let’s show him the power of community by helping him access this life-saving treatment. He has a wife and 3 beautiful kids!
