Five-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, Adrian Conejo Arias, asylum seekers who were detained last week in Minnesota, boarded a plane in Texas early on Sunday.
"I'm happy to finally be going home," Conejo Arias told ABC News' John Quiñones as the pair boarded their flight back to Minneapolis.
Exclusive ABC News videos show Conejo Arias carrying his son while boarding the plane home to Minneapolis.

Much love to Alex Pretti and Renee Good—but remember—ICE has killed 9 people in 2026. You know the names of the 2 white people they've killed.
ICE has also killed a Black man named Keith Porter, a Cambodian named Parady La, and five Latinos named Heber Sanchaz Domínguez, Victor Manuel Diaz, Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz, Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres, and Geraldo Lunas Campos.
ICE is on pace to kill more than 100 people this year. Abolish ICE. Impeach Noem. Prosecute those who committed these crimes.
Since July, I've tracked at least 2,300 cases in which federal judges have ruled ICE has illegally detained people without bond or due process.
This is one that stands out:

Children and women chanting “let us out” at the Dilley Concentration Center that Trump has set up in Texas, as they apparently wear color-coded jackets.
It’s like a scene from “The Handmaid’s Tale” or 1930s Germany.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara:
People have had enough. This is the third shooting in less than 3 weeks. We went the entire year last year recovering about 900 guns from the street, arresting hundreds of violent offenders,& we didn't shoot anyone
“Things will be better with Trump”
Walks into a literal blizzard of mess.
Heads back insi- oh no! The door is closed!
We’re stuck in fascism! YIKES!
Don’t be the duck. Don’t let the door close on democracy
Kimberlé Crenshaw emphasizes why the current attacks on diversity, equity & inclusion aren’t new, “Just like the fire seemed like the devastation came from nowhere, & they might think that what we're looking at right now came from nowhere. The conditions have been set for years.”
