HAS FUEL SUBSIDY RETURNED?
If you will not read this for your own sake, read it for the sake of your children, born or unborn, so they never have to grow to encounter the stark evidence of their parent's ignorance. DO NOT BE A RUFAI.
WhHAT IS FUEL SUBSIDY?
Under the inefficient and cancerous fuel subsidy refime, government bears the cost, depleting our collective patrimony. Funds that could be better invested in education, health, welfare, infrastructure and labour are squandered in forcing the pump price of fuel low.
Many civilized entities have since divorced themselves from such uncivilized and retrogressive regime; Yet Atiku and Obi, desperate political losers, are determined to drag us back to it.
Restoring the old fuel subsidy regime merely to score cheap political points could set Nigeria back by ₦20 trillion annually. The bitter truth is that we cannot afford it, and we cannot even afford to borrow our way into it.
WHAT THEN IS PRICE CAP?
Under the Asiwaju Visionary proposal, the government is negotiating a ceiling of ₦1,350 per litre on the cost at which petrol leaves the refinery or enters the supply chain. If costs rise above that ceiling, refiners and importers would initially absorb the difference and potentially recover it later when costs fall.
No kobo leaves the public treasury at that point. The naira will not buckle under reckless borrowing to sustain a lie, and nobody will profit from smuggling subsidised fuel across our borders.
Now, let us break it down so any ambiguity or misunderstanding survives.
HOW DOES THE NEW POLICY WORK IN PRACTICE?
Under the traditional subsidy, the kind Atiku and his son in confusion, Peter, are selling:
Suppose supplying one litre costs ₦1,500, but the government wants consumers to pay ₦1,200.
Actual supply cost: ₦1,500
Consumer pays: ₦1,200
Government, that is our collectively patrimony bears that cost: ₦300 per litre
If you multiply that by our consumption pattern of 60 million litres, the Nigerian State will have to pay N18,000,000,000 or N18B to markerters per day. Across a 30-day month, that is ₦540 billion
Under the Renewed Hope Visionary Price Cap Policy:
Suppose the agreed ceiling is ₦1,350, but the cost rises to ₦1,500.
Actual supply cost: ₦1,500
Agreed ceiling: ₦1,350
Temporary shortfall: ₦150 per litre
Under the proposal, the refiner or importer initially absorbs that ₦150 and may recover it later when costs decline. The government is not paying the ₦150 from public funds at that moment.
The critical distinction: under a conventional subsidy, the public sector bears the shortfall. Under the proposed cap, the supplier initially bears it and may recover it later.
To be honest about it, the extra cost does not vanish. The burden simply shifts to the private sector. It is recovered in a season of falling prices, so when fuel gets cheaper abroad, the relief at Nigerian pumps may be slower until suppliers have recouped what they advanced.
SO, WHY IS ATIKU WEEPING?
Because he has seen that government has a better, more sustainable way to achieve the same goal. His only joker was the bait of an impractical, cancerous subsidy, dangled to win sympathy from a misinformed minority. Now a government has produced a workable, economically sound alternative, and his last hope is dissolving before his eyes into fruitlessness.
Good Morning Severally
Shall I Begin?
Last night, I was on call with my Urhobo friend in Diaspora, a staunch Obidient.
I understand how this guy struggled to leave Nigeria and why he haates anything related to this country.
As the breadwinner from a family of 8, he has lots of financial pressures.
He also haates the fact that his siblings have to leave their ancestral land for Lagos before they can earn a living.
He accused President Tinubu of Nepotism saying every project he's doing is centred around Lagos or other Yorùbá land.
So I asked if he has seen the biggest gas project in Africa that President Tinubu is opening in Warri, he said really?
There and then, he googled it and found out it's true.
He was so happy Warri was remembered and lots of opportunities will be created from the project.
He posted it in his community WhatsApp group and shared some feedbacks with me.
The people of Warri and Delta at large are very happy with this project.
You don't know what it means that they have such opportunity opening up new places in their area.
Anyone from Delta not supporting PBAT's re-election is simply a baastarrd.
Example of such baastarrds are the ones trying to become Lagosians by force.
Northerners ti jade tan ooo💪💪
“If Engr. Dave Umahi can deliver this much across Nigeria’s 36 states in such a short time, just imagine what another 8 years of sustained commitment to infrastructure development could mean for our country” — Northern Lady 🇳🇬🔥
Engr. Dave Umahi is indeed a blessing to this administration. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮! 🏗️💪🏽
Nigeria is building, and the results speak for themselves. 🇳🇬👏🏽
Sometimes in July 2025, President Tinubu was in Kigali for the African Union Summit, where he called for the establishment of an African credit rating agency.
Today, the African Union says Africa will launch an independent credit rating agency by October 7, 2026.
Hmmmm… 👀
Na road we go chop???
Yes!!! America’s Super Highway created Prosperity and President Tinubu is doing the same in Nigeria
~Obafemi George
Listening to this man always give me joy. Chai! The man is exceptionally brilliant .
FG not Tinubu is executing 61 road projects across the North Central Region and the people are happy.
2: Construction means creating jobs both direct and indirect.
3: the SSA Community Engagement @AbiodunEssiet is representing the people of North Central excellently well by following up with the construction.
4: the 15.8 km Lafia bypass road project excited me a lot. Farmers are smiling to banks. @YeriTheSGF@iamAhmadOlolu@nentawe1@YTBalogun@Babshub_
You may not reap what you sow in life....
Sometimes, things happen, not as a result of what we have done, good or bad, but life just having its turn on us.
Life itself is riddle with unexplainable situations that one can hardly comprehend... ✍️
The federal government announced 10 steps to help alleviate the pains of the fuel price increase.
However sensationalist have taken a few of the announcements out of context to feed their ever gullible audience.
The 10 steps include:
1. Margin discount at NNPC stations
2. Forward sales of crude to local refineries.
3. Price Modulation
4. Removing illegal levies
5. More direct support. Conditional cash transfers.
6. Faster CNG roll out
7. Excess profit Tax (under consideration). This is targeted at businesses within the energy value chain exploiting consumers
8. Less red tape
9. National strategic fuel reserve.
10. Better traffic and Logistics.
Side note: My delivery wasn’t sharp.
I was angry and irritated while making the video but wanted it to be purely informative.
So I tried very hard not to speak a certain way. Cut out things a few times. 👍🏾
We are introducing price modulation, with a ₦1,350 per litre ceiling that is neither a subsidy nor price control — Taiwo Oyedele, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy👇🔥
Dear Peter Obi supporters, have you calmed down to really see through the deliberate dumb and clueless way your Peter answers questions?
You ask him: What is your name
Peter Obi: In 1945, Nigeria was amalgamation and it became a contraption..
You ask him again: What is your name?
Peter Obi: In Anambra state I cut grass and made sure people cut grass with me..
Why has Seriake Dickson refused to campaign for his own presidential candidate?🤔
His public appearances is more focused on defending the NDC structure and his own role than promoting Obi’s candidacy.😭😭
