Dale Earnhardt Jr. spoke extensively on Lee Pulliam in his post-race press conference. "He took this opportunity extremely personal and took it to heart. He wanted to come in here and be ready and as good as he possibly could be.
"... I feel like the things that he's done in his career afforded him the opportunity to feel what it's like at this level and kind of at least get that experience so he can know what that's like and how he stacks up. And I think he stacks up really well."

Dale believes Pulliam would do well in any other O'Reilly/Truck opportunities he gets. Says JR Motorsports would love to run him more, but that's difficult to do.

Also talked about getting Lee not to beat himself up over the stackup crash on the restart as well as the response from the industry. Carson Hocevar and Butterbean Queen were among those texting Dale about Pulliam along with Denny Hamlin.
