@LPNational What the fuck are you guys doing. I've been a Libertarian for 20 years now - Fauci presided over the most significant curtailment of personal liberty in this country's history for his own ego.
"What about Trump" in this case is INSANE
@zeta_globin The kids have annoying quirks but at least they're understandable - mostly caused by the fact they've only been here a couple years or they're expressing something natural to humans but deemed socially unacceptable.
A 35 year old doesn't have those excuses, it's not attractive.
@codechallenged@JTiegs7347@rutgerkipling@jollier_raptor Nobody's saying it's actually easy, only that anarcho-tyranny is constantly used as an excuse to ratchet up the police state instead of solving problems or making hard choices.
@itsmunter@xwanyex Oh yes that's exactly the same as this situation with multiple dudes breaking into a car. Thank you for your peerless wisdom and a flawless analogy.
@0xhey@JenCarsonTaylor@Wimbledon I'm sympathetic to pictures not hurting anyone, but anyone should be embarrassed to toss their head like a horse this way. It's so obviously self-involved, the average human finds it distasteful.
@Danny_5079@SteveMiran Of course some costs passed on to consumers and US companies. Both sides of the argument are trying to say it's all or nothing, but that's not the case, but it seems obvious now that the US "Won" on tarriffs
@alsoJMc@SteveMiran Extrapolate. Why do you think it's unlikely? Because the next democratic president will want to remove them as a show of dismantling trumpism?
@ascriven01@AndyMasley Two wild guesses.
The public still views farmers as the backbone of American culture and is naturally deferential to their lobbying.
And the large conglomerates certainly make enough money to influence politics everywhere.
@rb_coleman@AndyMasley I do like that you're in here discussing the other side. My bias has always been against ethanol - the strength of the corn lobby has always been worrying. It's a good reminder for me to check the latest reality and consider details I've missed.
@rb_coleman@AndyMasley And frankly, you being so combative in the face of someone open to hearing more information isn't doing you any favors. I'd love to know the truth on whether Ethanol was worth it, but this isn't coming across as unbiased.
@rb_coleman@AndyMasley Playing devil's advocate - why would the same organizations that pushed Ethanol originally be trusted? How often does any government source admit when it's wrong? Serving as the basis for GHG accounting doesn't mean anything.
@Yuugure_Made@sailaunderscore It did, but that's not a problem. Society now expects its heroes to not just serve them, but be servile and cloak their excellence. The Incredibles rejected that (and had a competent male character), neither of which is a popular take today.
@BrownCoyoteStu@johnloeber How long did answering the question take?
This thread is interesting because I LOVE getting to use "Work Time" to catch up with friends. Maybe your old group wanted that question answered and this colleague volunteered so he could get 30 minutes of catchup?
@jonathanmaze I'm amazed at how many people are having the take that this is an indictment of fast food in general. Absolutely ignorant.
Wendy's has utter contempt for the consumer in every dimension: staff quality, cleanliness, and cooking execution. It's a them problem.
