Muslims make up the majority in Maiduguri, Borno State and we are still in the month of Ramadan; Now on Monday at around 7 p.m. there were bomb attacks in four strategic places that has reportedly claimed lives and caused panic. Remember this when u want to downplay the seriousness of the insecurity crisis by making it about religion.

Now that said, despite these continuous barbaric attacks, the govt will still carries on with the de-radicalizing of terrorists thru the Operation Safe Corridor. Tell me how that programme sends any message or gets justice for the victims of terrorists?

Ethiopia 🇪🇹 has introduced emergency fuel subsidies to protect consumers from the global oil price surge triggered by tensions in the Middle East. The government is subsidising petrol and diesel to keep domestic prices stable despite sharp increases in international fuel markets.

The crisis follows disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil shipping route carrying about 20 per cent of global supply. Officials say additional fuel imports and strategic reserves will help protect Ethiopia’s economy amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.

(50 YEARS OF HISTORY, HERITAGE AND HOPE)

Today, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating a defining milestone, the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Plateau State, a land blessed with rich history, diverse peoples, and an enduring legacy of Service to our Nation.

Since its creation in 1976, Plateau State has stood as a unique meeting point of Cultures, Faiths, and Traditions, bound together by a shared commitment to coexistence and progress. From Jos, the historic Tin Mining City that helped shape Nigeria’s industrial beginnings, to the many communities across its Local Governments, Plateau has played a pivotal role in our National story.

Over the years, Plateau State has been led by Distinguished Sons and Daughters whose service has left indelible marks on Governance and public life in the State, Nation and Globally. From the foundational leadership that laid the early administrative structures of the state, through successive Civilian and Military Administrations, Plateau has produced leaders of vision, integrity, and National relevance. Its contribution through elder Statesmen, Technocrats, Legislators, Jurists, Traditional Rulers, and Faith leaders continues to enrich Nigeria’s Democratic and moral fabric.

The Traditional Institutions of Plateau State , anchored by revered Royal Fathers have remained vital custodians of culture, peace, and communal identity. Alongside them, Plateau’s Faith Communities, Academia, and vibrant Civil Society have consistently shaped values of tolerance, dialogue, and responsible Citizenship.

The journey of the past five decades has not been without trials. Plateau State has faced moments that tested its unity and resolve. Yet, time and again, the resilience of its people has prevailed affirming that Peace, though challenged, remains the collective aspiration of all Plateau sons and daughters.

As Plateau State marks this Golden Jubilee, it is both a moment of reflection and a call to renewal. A call to honour the sacrifices of past leaders, to empower the youth who represent the state’s future, and to recommit to inclusive Governance, Justice, Reconciliation, and Sustainable Development.

May the next fifty years consolidate Plateau State’s place as a beacon of Peace, Cultural harmony, Tourism, Education, and Agricultural Excellence, truly living up to its cherished identity as the “Home of Peace and Tourism.”

I congratulate the Government and People of Plateau State on this Historic Golden Jubilee and pray that Unity, Stability, and shared Prosperity will continue to define its path forward.

Agree. Dangote is fighting because they want to destroy his investment. He has fought many battles on this refining business.

1. Obasanjo sold the Port Harcourt refinery to him. NNPC staff protested.

2. YarAdua took back the refinery from him

3. Dangote spent $20 billion of his own money to build a brand new refinery.

4. Then, this same NMDSRA issued a statement that Dangote's refined products were sub-standard. This was later proven to be false.

5. Then NNPC refused to supply him crude oil. He turned to the USA to source his crude oil and continues to import from them till this day.

6. Then PBAT ordered NNPC to start supplying him crude oil and to accept naira payment. NNPC was unhappy.

7. Suddenly, NUPENG and PENGASSEN ganged up, claiming Dangote is a monopolist, because he is refusing them the old practice of toll collection of N5m per truck while loading products.

8. Dangote called their bluff and decided to buy his own CNG tankers, 2000 of them.

9. NUPENG and PENGASSEN then declared a strike action demanding that Dangote staff must be allowed to join their union.

10. Smelling a rat, Dangote asked all staff to indicate if they wanted to join PENGASSEN. 800 staff signed. Dangote sacked them all, claiming 22 incidents of sabotage detected in the refinery, including unexplained fire incidents.

11. NUPENG and PENGASSEN again went on strike.

12. NASS intervened and begged Dangote to rehire the 800 staff. Dangote took the staff back, but sent them to cement factories, far away from his $20 billion refinery.

13. Today, Dangote's refinery is working producing PMS, diesel, aviation fluid, fertilizers etc. He is exporting to USA, Asia and other African countries, earning FOREX.

14. Yet, Ahmed Farouk insists on spending our inadequate FOREX earnings to import PMS in order to keep refineries in Europe in business. Now we know why this is so. Obviously, he is receiving kick backs. He will rather do that than support a local investment. If this is not economic sabotage, what is it?

15. Clearly, Dangote and Bua who are locked in a healthy competition are contributing to our economic renaissance.

Saboteurs like Ahmed Farouk must be stopped. They are spending our FOREX while Dangote is generating FOREX for the country.
