It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is after all a specialized discipline & one that most pple consider to be a ‘dismal science.’ But it is totally irresponsible to have a loud & vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance
Our leaders lack ecomics basics
The Nigeria–Morocco Gas Pipeline project was initiated on 3 December 2016, when the late President Muhammadu Buhari and Morocco’s King Mohammed VI officially launched the initiative in Abuja during the King’s state visit to Nigeria. The two leaders agreed to study and implement the construction of a regional gas pipeline linking Nigeria to Morocco through several West African countries.
Key milestones:
3 December 2016 – Official launch of the project by President Buhari and King Mohammed VI.
June 2018 – Nigeria and Morocco signed a joint declaration approving the pipeline’s route and moving the project into the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase.
September 2022 – ECOWAS, Nigeria and Morocco signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance the project.
July 2026 – ECOWAS member states endorsed the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA), marking a major step toward implementation.
