This feels like the production really wanted work on Dr. Who but are forced to work on Trek instead. I know it isnt that, but that's what it feels like to watch. Just stop!

Gods. I am so done with the Doctor Who references in Star Trek. Its already a struggle to watch and feel like its Star Trek at all anymore, they keep making clear direct reference to Dr. Who. Let's be honest SNW s3 was even structured like Dr. Who season.

@NotTheCamarilla @aliciaxlifeVT Gonna go with Cam, here. Its... pretty clearly what it was. He was presented as good at first, the "twist" is that he wasn't. It is never stated out loud but it is clearly shown. Hell, they switch protagonists to make it extra clear. Media literacy is dying.

Also... print on demand is a thing for books. One has to wonder why it can't be one for games. I'd wait for all the patches to be out, then order a physical disc. Keep it for life.

@AlHad40664 @Radrappy I have to agree. I loved the level design and its new ideas but it didn't do much with those ideas. Like, it has set itself up for a deeper story than usual but its all at the start and end, with a whole lot of not much in between and most of its mysteries are just kinda dropped.

@larilille @RobertPicardo 8 was bad. Tilly, like all teachers this season aren't teaching, they are almost bullying. And that's just not Tilly. Which is why I LOVED Capt Reno so damn much. Attitude yes, harsh but fair, bully no. Just great teaching. That's what I signed up for. Its called Academy. Teach.

@larilille @RobertPicardo Okay. Fair is fair. While it still has several groan worthy moments, the last episode was pretty great. It is one of 2 episodes this season I genuinely liked (Vox in Excelso being the other). Maslany brought her A game and Reno in command teacher mode was straight up amazing.

@larilille @RobertPicardo I sure wouldn't mind having that level of storytelling again in Trek. Have you seen For All Mankind? Its not flawless but it's made by folks from the TNG/DS9 teams (show runner, props and set design). Let's just say it shows and it largely fantastic.

@larilille @RobertPicardo 100% shouldn't be Gorn (or xenomorph onvious rip off). There's a lot we haven't seen even inside federation space even if they keep going back in time instead of just setting something after DS9.

@larilille @RobertPicardo Based on writer interview, I'd say its very much load bearing. She wanted this to be a DS9 episode for trekkies. Said that's all she would do if it was allowed. But she was hired to also target the new audiance. Goes a long way to show why this episode has such whiplash.

@larilille @RobertPicardo And they ruined what would have been the best episode of SNW (and great Trek period) with its ending. I won't spoil. But... they really don't know when less is more. When to stop for the perfect moment. They always gotta go too far and ruin it.

@larilille @RobertPicardo They can't stay out of their own way. There's one episode that's played entirely for laughs and none of it makes sense. A character has studied humans his entire life, has dated one, has access to humans at any time, yet just now learns the most basic things like high fives. No.

SNW had a very real shot, but if the last season is indicative of what we can expect in the future, it won't be it either.

@larilille @RobertPicardo We're supposed to just be okay skipping an entire show's worth of lore and story... just cause they didn't want to include us and yet... they do it anyway by making every odd episode a direct tie to one of the previous shows.
