Think about this statement from the perspective of a student. Generally, kids see the educational world through the narrowest of lenses. We as teachers have to check our inventory of "common sense knowledge" to better facilitate learning. #parkedtech
@MrsWehmueller I really appreciated that statement in the TED. I started a discussion in class around "what makes school boring". Through discussion the students were able to see how their personal interest can make for a better learning experience.
@MoralesThird I said this to my wife in regards to discipline and parenting, "Sometimes we have to step back from the requirements of life and tend to the life requirements". As a coach I have to remember that my students are still kids and we have to help them grow.
Biggest "ah ha" of 2022 so far. Reading an assignment for class. "The idea of “school” is supposed to be about building relationships that develop a culture of learning"

@MoralesThird That gentleman was right on the money. I look forward to all the things I will implement in my class because of that one video.

If students retain 70% of what I say the first 10 min of class, that must be when they are the most engaged. Good to keep in mind when I’m starting class each day! #engageearly#parkedtech
@kellner_mr Hey there! Thanks for sharing this. I have really high hopes for my kiddos this semester. I will be using this in the near future.

"Education, in a way, dislocates many people from their natural talents" https://t.co/NgIhnejKMk
That's going to be our talking point on Tuesday.
What does this mean to you?
How could this be true?

If you haven't watched Sir Ken Robinson, I would suggest checking him out. I'm super late to learning about who he is. https://t.co/xppjjrxHGt
