Claude can now create and edit files from spreadsheets and documents to PDFs and slide decks.
What coding agents have been doing for software engineering is soon expanding to all knowledge work - this is just the beginning.
Every now and then, a model just hits that brings so much novel vibrance and fun to life. Claude 4 gives me that Calvin & Hobbes feeling every time, like a true partner in crime. Ask it to surprise you. Ask it to delight you. Ask it to give you its strongest opinion.
Introducing the next generation: Claude Opus 4 and Claude Sonnet 4.
Claude Opus 4 is our most powerful model yet, and the world’s best coding model.
Claude Sonnet 4 is a significant upgrade from its predecessor, delivering superior coding and reasoning.
I had early access to what is Claude 4 (I don't know which model) & I have been very impressed.
Fun example, this is what it made in response to the prompt: "the book Piranesi as a p5js 3d space. do it for me" - just that, no other prompting (note the birds, water, lighting)
We just released a detailed guide on Claude Code tips & tricks, collected from across Anthropic and the wider Claude Code community. I'm positive that even if you're a Claude Code power user, there's still something new here that could delight and surprise you!
The Claude for Ed launch already represents countless conversations, collaborations, and creative thinking about how AI can truly enhance the learning journey. But this is just the start! I'm excited to keep developing this in partnership with students and faculty globally.
I rarely post on social media, but I'm super proud of the Claude for Education initiative. We just finished our latest listening tour with faculty and students at Harvard, Northeastern, and other higher ed institutions, allowing us to gather great insights: (1/4)
On this tour, we were able to show novel ways of use to even the most seasoned of faculty and students. No matter which AI model students & faculty use or how long they've been using them, it's clear that frontier model orgs can do much more to guide learning and teaching with AI
I invite you to try things with this new model that you have never thought possible before with other models. We've done some really cool things internally testing it. I'll leave you to find out for yourselves :)
Introducing Claude 3.7 Sonnet: our most intelligent model to date. It's a hybrid reasoning model, producing near-instant responses or extended, step-by-step thinking.
One model, two ways to think.
We’re also releasing an agentic coding tool: Claude Code.
