Mario Kart Wii is no longer just a Wii game.
A developer named @patchzyy has statically recompiled it into a native PC application, making it the first known Wii game to receive this treatment.
That means:
• Up to 4K resolution
• Uncapped frame rates
• No emulator required
• Lower overhead and better stability
• Support for Retro Rewind's 200+ custom tracks
Even more impressive, AI was only used to help write code, not create game assets.
A public beta is planned for August, assuming Nintendo doesn't intervene first.
