I visit so many schools where relationships are key ~ sadly , I also visit many where sanctions are highlighted in front of the whole class and children sit missing their " reward time " whilst others around them look on playing 😢

Another reason why punitive, 'zero tolerance' spaces are not inviting in any circumstance. Building relationships with children, young people and their families and supporting services is essential and one of the many reasons that trauma informed education is the answer. If school is meant to be the safest place, make it BE the safest place.
