A warm luncheon discussion with former President Ranil Wickramasinghe @RW_SRILANKA illuminated my first day in Sri Lanka. Though his sacrifices for and services to his nation in recent years have been overtaken in the heady rush of political transformation, history is bound to be kinder to him than contemporary political judgements might be. I have enjoyed his friendship for nearly two decades, and I believe he has the best interests of his country and the broader region genuinely at heart.
