🦊⚠️🦡 MIDDLETON HUNT HIT REPORT - ACTIVE BADGER SETTS POLLUTED WITH DIESEL AND THEN BLOCKED, FOX HUNTED WITHIN MINUTES 🦊⚠️🦡

MEET: Their kennels in Birdsall

A massive effort had been put into blocking every single entrance at every single sett for Middleton hunt's Wednesday meet. Ridiculously deep spade marks were found, the most destructive blocking of setts we have come across so far. Some were blocked with large branches then earth. At 3 different setts, multiple entrances had been intentionally polluted with diesel, this is possibly to make extra sure a fox would not escape to ground and is also how badgers are driven out of thier homes.

This is how much effort they go to to prolong the chase in the hopes of hounds tearing apart a fox. Pollute with diesel then block the hell out of all entrances. Pathetic and criminal.

Diesel pollution is also particularly bad for badgers who have cubs at this time of the year and who may abandon their setts. A callous & evil move. Also a likley win win for the Birdsall Estate to target foxes and badgers at the same time. The Birdsall Estate fund the Middleton hunt who participate in wildlife crime on a weekly basis, avoid this wedding venue at all costs! Sett interference is illegal #birdsallhouse

Within minutes of setting off hounds were in cry on the line of a fox towards Mount Ferrant, chasing the fox all around Heights plantation, Langhill plantation, back to mount ferrant, Swinham woods, back to Aldro then onto Rabbit Hill, showing their desperation to chase an animal to death, for 'fun'.

2 foxes were spotted, both huntsman and hounds trying to get on their scent. Hounds were in cry again, chaos ensued with hounds scattered all over the road, some at Leavening brow and some still nearer Rabbit hill whilst vile riders entirely blocked a public road to pack up their horses.

We hope these foxes escaped but we don't know.

After second horsing it was back towards Aldro Farm, Swinham Woods, Oxpasture wood, near Pond plantation, Earthquake Plantation, areas around Leys Wood and Luddith Farm, Centenery Way then south around Rowmire plantation into pits woods, following the stream back to the meet. A fox was spotted during this.

With multiple foot teams out between us, @east_sabs, @wyhuntsabs, @YorkAntiHunt and independant monitors, we had them well covered. Another long and tough day for sabs. Thank you so much to everyone who likes, comments and donates, we really appreciate it!

🦊 Middleton Hunt joint meet with Derwent Hunt - Hit Report 🦊

DATE: 8th March 2025
HUNT: Middleton Hunt and Derwent Hunt
MEET: Westfield Farm, Norton, Malton

Yesterday was the joint meet of Middleton and Derwent Hunts. Middleton hunt staff wearing red coats for the first and only Saturday this season, bit late to whip em out now boys. It was also Derwents final meet for the season, meaning Damians last time as huntsman, good riddance.

An intense day for all, from sabs finding numerous badger setts blocked, to multiple foxes sightings, these criminals were hell bent on breaking the law as per usual.

Considering Middleton's recent poor turnouts, we were surprised to see 60 riders and 5 redcoats gathered at Westfield farm in Norton. They gathered getting drunk and stuffing their faces from 11ish onwards. Redcoats left the meet at 12.30 towards Scarlet balk bridge, then to the dismantled railway in a loop round to Settrington howe with sabs at various locations. Thankfully there was around 30 sab eyes on them yesterday so the hunt were pretty well covered all day.

Horses were visibly sweating by now in this warm weather. They headed south at speed towards Langton Wold, not long after they got to the first fox of the day. The hunt chased them all round west wold farm and surrounding plantations, seemingly losing the scent for now from what we saw on the drone.

The hunt stopped for a break and to second horse at West Wold Farm. Straight back to it though and not long after, hounds were in cry again around East Balk heading south, red coats cackling down the road as we tell them the drone can see hounds on a fox.

Heading south towards the Leys/ The Carrs/ Clombe Beck where at some point we think they were on to 2 foxes, splitting the pack who were off in cry in different directions, outcomes unknown.

Eventually continuing south through Carr nabb wood ending up at Bog plantation. A while was spent around Mount ferrent and surrounding areas until they headed up the road straight into Crow wood spending the next while flushing Birdsall estate woods, looping back to Carr nab wood, Clombe wood, Langhill wood and back to the kennels.

Our foot sabs covered A LOT of ground today. The hunt were relentless in their attempts to break the law and kill foxes, we thought the hunt killed a fox, confirmed by a hunt supporter (video to follow), we hope other foxes escaped thanks to their own wit and a helping hand from multiple sab groups and independent monitors.

🦊 Middleton Hunt - Hit Report 🦊

MEET: Aldby Park Weddings, Buttercrambe

Our sab joined York Anti-Hunt League to keep eyes on the Middleton Hunt who were on one with hounds in cry multiple times throughout the day. Wearing their red coats for the first and likely only time this season to impress at the 'Ladies Day' meet, £120 cap for a day of hunting foxes.

They headed out of the meet and went straight into 'The Leys' hunting through 'Howl Beck' and nearby woodland covers. Clearly no trail had been laid.

Support were gathered at 'Highfield' positioning themselves in readiness, frothing at the liklihood of seeing foxes chased and possibly killed. Surprise surprise hounds went into cry and a fox was seen running from the wood. Our sab followed this fox on the drone, checking to see if hounds were following, but no, they had got on the scent of a second fox, encouraged on by huntsman.

Hounds appear to mark to ground. For a prolonged period of time, huntsman, staff and riders all gather whilst hounds try to dig down. Trail went to ground did it?

The area was checked afterwards and was observed to be of sufficient dimensions for foxes.

The hunt continued through Scrayingham pasture/ Scrayingham grange onto Leppington wood, intent on hunting foxes. They stopped for some time at Scrayingham Grange to second horse.

They headed to hunt miscanthus grass at Scrayingham where hounds were in cry again, a place you cannot even pretend a trail had been laid and surprise surpise, a fox was seen running, luckliy in the opposite direction to hounds, for now.

The hunt continued down the river to then hunt areas between Scrayingham, Leppington and Bugthorpe with hounds going into cry at various points. They were non stop hunting foxes. Our sab observed three fox sightings from the drone.

We didn't have eyes on for the whole day and they didn't pack until 5.40pm so it wouldn't be surprising if theyd killed at least one fox today unfortunately.

On Saturday 1st March, we witnessed this absolute muppet show and had to share with you.

When Owen Riley and Tom Milburn aren't spending time crying to police or killing foxes, they decide to have yet another epic fail and absolutely wrecked someone's poor field with their shocking quad driving abilities, or lack of. And this boys is why we only sit one person on a one person quad, instead of 2 or 3 like you generally do.

Honestly, and they say we know nothing about the countryside but we clearly know more than these two utter muppets.

MEET: Field just off Uncleby Hill, Uncleby.

Joined by the amazing East Yorkshire Coast Hunt Sabs we picked up horseboxes flung left, right and centre blocking the roads in Uncleby, we then picked up Jason and Arthur with a child and hounds hacking from their drop off spot at Low House, and hacked to their field riders who were loitering in a field just off Uncleby Hill.

They gathered around drinking and chatting for a while before heading off at around 11:30, Jason O'Donnell led hounds via North Dale where well positioned sab awaited them, and followed them through to Ray Dale and Boot and Shoe plantation where they spent some time casting hounds and vocally trying to spook foxes and encouraging hounds to flush through.

They continued North to Opendale Plantation and then North west to Deepdale/Hanging Grimston Wold where they continued flushing through and encouraging hounds, particularly along Gilder Beck, a favorite of theirs.

They continued hunting and flushing hounds Northeast, through Rigg Plantation, Thixendale, Raisthorpe, Burdale and back to Thixendale where exhausted hounds lay awaiting the end. Hound van arrive and packed them up for the day just after 15:30. They were greeted with yet more alcohol from residents of Manor Farm who also took it upon themselves to open our vehicle door and try intimidate our driver for being parked on a public road. Deluded hunt supporters as usual.

Sabs hung around to check they were definitely done which they were and we watched them back to kennels.

MEET: The Stone Trough Inn, Kirkham.

We were utterly disgusted at The Stone Trough Inn yesterday morning for hosting the criminal gang that is Middleton Hunt. We understand some pubs have to accept any custom, but to host and have waiters serving the mounted criminals is beyond a joke, and hounds free roaming the car park and adjoining fields, urinating and defecating galore - none of which we saw picked up. We strongly advise against visiting this establishment who clearly support the hunt.

The hunt headed off down Centenary Way, Jason O'Donnell encouraging hounds to flush through Kirkham Park wood, with Whips Arthur Irvine and Chris Inman following behind like good little boys. Owen Riley is back to his quad bike today, obviously no spare ponies for him to pinch this week as hunt thug/photographer Tom Milburn's son was back on the pony again which Owen had previously borrowed (bless). Three generations of hunt scum out within the Milburn family today, all as vile as each other and always in the thick of the crime, they're never far from fox sightings or blocked setts.

Hounds were flushed through Giants Grave and Firby Wood when a fox was sighted. Thankfully running away from hounds as they proceeded West towards Coldwell Plantation and Giants Causeway. At this point good pals @east_yorkshire_coast_hunt_sabs arrived, making us very happy indeed, this can be a hard meet to cover, but their presence today meant eyes were on hounds for most, if not all parts of the day, and when we didn't have close eyes on, we had drones on them observing from the sky. We were clearly bugging them today as Owen Riley and Tom Milburn resorted to calling the police accusing our driver of dangerous driving. Pretty embarrassing when the cops came and advised us that they saw their 'evidence' which infact showed them being the ones driving dangerously, footage of which we have, aswell as evidence of the damage they did to our vehicle when crashing into it on a quad, nice one for snitching on yourself boys, maybe try crying to your mums next time instead of wasting police time?

Jason led the hounds down the road into Manor Farm, and flushed south through Beck Dale before flushing through myscanthus grass just south of Rabbit Hill, another place impossible to lay a trail through. After flushing there they headed into Rabbit Hill and and Fox Covert Plantation before heading East into Oliver Hills, High Penhowe and Castlesides Plantation, Jason O'Donnell burring and encouraging hounds throughout.

They continued into Fox Covert Plantation, Mount Ferrant and Langhill Plantation. Another fox was spotted around these areas and hounds were doing their best to catch them. We believe the fox went to ground and escaped, despite best efforts of the hounds to get them.

🦊 Middleton Hunt - Hit Report 🦊

HUNT: Middleton Hunt
MEET: Sledmere House and Sledmere Castle.

The hunt took full advantage of Sledmere Estate land today, shame on the estate for allowing and hosting illegal fox hunting and blocked badger setts on their land.

Blocked badgers setts were discovered surrounding the meet (no surprise considering we've found the same at most recent meets). Police were informed but instead of getting their boots muddy and investigating the blocked setts, they spent some time colluding with the criminal gang (aka Middleton Hunt) at their meet. Due to the police presence, we believe the hunt changed their usual routes as they headed towards Fimber, an unusual route for this meet.

Hounds were found flushing through York Bank and Fimber Nab, flushing terrified wildlife onto main roads where cars sped along plowing over the poor souls. The hunt were doing their best to evade sabs and kept away from roads, they had two quads out again today, unsure why either were needed for a 'trail hunt'.

They headed East and flushed hounds through Black Wood for some time, before they crossed over at Sir Tatton Sykes Monument and continued East towards Low Cowlam, Meg Dale, Cinquefoil Brow, Greenland Slack, Wood Dale and surrounding areas, flushing hounds throughout.

Owen Riley was acting as Whip again today, trotting behind his master on a pony that last week was ridden by a child, just when we thought Owen couldn't embarrass himself anymore. Also note Jason's horse with multiple bloody wounds on their poor body, as usual, forced to continue on, we were especially surprised at their decision to be out today considering the horrific wind speeds, thought they cared for their horses? Pfffft

Shortly after this, they lurked back into Sledmere Castle and packed up for the day at around 15:20.

Always a pleasure to be joined by @east_sabs, @yorka and Independent Sabs. As usual, good teamwork ensured we kept with them as much as possible but they were very elusive so we can't guarantee they didn't kill.
