@COVID_19_Canada Daily Omicron deaths are currently ~8X higher than the number of daily deaths we'd expect for flu (ignoring flu seasonality).

Omicron deaths are still well above all but cancer and heart disease deaths. COVID is still the number 3 killer in Canada, as it has been since 2020.

@sandrokovacevic @CheriDiNovo There’s a huge difference between not dying and being just fine. The research on long-term effects of COVID isn’t great, even in kids. Lots of mental health & neurological concerns. Also while adults are getting milder cases, more kids have required hospitalization recently.
