No. Virtually every self-respecting economist—across the political spectrum—agrees tariffs raise prices. It’s just a question of if the trade-off is worth it. Reasonable people can debate the latter, but debates need to be based in reality, not fantasy.
If Kamala Harris wins the election in November, she will be depriving an entire generation of young women of their dream of being the first woman president.
🚨Major projection alert
Trump on Vice President Harris: “The truth is that she doesn't want to debate. She’s not a good debater. She’s not a smart person.”
The other interpretation is that he is simply doing what Trump does, pre-spinning a debate as biased against him so if it goes badly for him, he can claim it was rigged.
You have to wonder if Trump is laying the groundwork with the screed below to ditch the debate.
And his team reportedly is insisting that mics be muted when a candidate's time expires. They apparently know their guy and want to protect him from himself! https://t.co/4Ac4QAz5RP
He could just say: "I'm a Reaganite conservative and will never compromise on it, so I can never vote for a Dem." Instead, he goes all Michael Anton, claiming Harris is an existential threat to constitutional government in the US--all so he can feel less guilty voting for Trump.
@NeveltenJohn@greggnunziata The conservative case for Harris is avoiding a 10% tariff which would be a disaster for America and the world.
The other conservative case is preserving the constitutional order.
This is fair. But I don't hear Harris team threatening not to appear for debate, as Trump did again Sunday because, he says, he didn't like the way ABC interviewed Tom Cotton.
Feels like Harris campaign is trying to sow a little mischief while Trump may be looking for an escape.
@DougJBalloon I love you, @DougJBalloon. This account is amazing.
The MIT professor and musical comedy performer Tom Lehrer call it quits on the musical social commentary after Kissinger win the Peace Prize because we were behind satire.
Maybe you’ve reached that point.
