I guess it's making the community safer by blocking to footpath completely? it's not like there is no space on the road. But that sort of feeling of entitlement runs really deep.
Our streets will never be safe for children until we daylight A LOT more corners. We need to make it physically impossible for cars to crowd the crosswalk.
Had to laugh at this stupidity at Westgate, yeah lets all just park on someone's private grass when there is heaps of spaces all around, on road, or even on rooftops.
But walking's for plebs, right?
Here is the link to report vehicles parked on footpaths. https://t.co/t4Uby0izOU You need to be able to log into an AT account, otherwise call 09 355 3553.
The owner of this vehicle parks here everyday because you allow it @AklTransport. He just told me he’s allowed because it’s his driveway. When I asked about prams & wheelchairs he pointed to the footpath on the other side of the road.
Kia ora @AklTransport, the abandoned car I privately reported yesterday as being here for over a week has now been set on fire. Can you please remove this hazard?
Thank you.
Since @AklTransport have not done anything about this despite reporting. Trying @TamakiRegen who are about making healthy and safe communities. Kids and nanas having to walk on road because of this. Ev Perry Road, GI.
Sorry I've been a little quiet this weekend. Let me break in though with a short story about a car parked over a footpath, and the tragic sequence of events that followed. *Note: this photo is indicative, and not the same as the car featured in the story*
Humphrey’s Landscaping. Ariki Street, Grey Lynn. When asked why they couldn’t park on the road where there was a space a few metres away; “Sometimes it’s a bit difficult for us”.
Many people seem to prefer to park in their driveway and block the footpath rather than on the road, even if there’s a space directly in front of their house.
Hi @AklTransport, a contractor has managed to completely block the footpath at the corner of View Rd and Mt Eden Rd. Do you think we could get a message to them to ensure they consider pedestrians, prams and wheelchair users?
