White backdrops are the go-to option for most creators because they’re easy.

The problem?

They make you look cheap.

Taking the time to be intentional about your background color goes a long way in making your studio appear more professional.

Even if you live in a rental property and can’t paint your walls, you can add decorative lighting to change the atmosphere.

Doing this instantly elevates your studio's quality, signaling that time, attention, and taste were invested in its setup.

For instance, when I filmed my course, I created three distinct background options in a single bedroom:

One wall was painted black 1️⃣, another was a cool white 2️⃣, and I also used a blue light on the black background to further accentuate the contrast and provide a slightly different look 3️⃣.

If you're anything like me, you might feel overwhelmed at the thought of finalizing the color choice and painting or wallpapering the wall.

If you find yourself unable to decide, always remember that you can reverse these choices.

The crucial thing is to make a decision and move forward because until you take that step, you won’t know what the final outcome will look like.
