The National Weather Service in New Mexico has declared and issued a life-threatening flash flood emergency for the village of Las Vegas and Romeroville New Mexico, due to slow-moving thunderstorms causing extremely heavy downpours. This has led to significant flooding, with multiple homes and roads inundated and vehicles stranded by the high water and rivers over flowing. So far, over 8 inches of rain have already fallen. Officals are evacuating residents and asking others to immediately move to higher ground
