Let’s Talk About Periods!
Menstruation is natural. It’s not shameful.
It's a part of life, not a taboo.
Let’s break the silence, end the stigma, and support one another.
Every girl and woman deserves dignity. #PeriodCoffeeTalk#EndPeriodPoverty
This month, we at @RaisingTeensUg2 shall be launching the Girls’ Changing Room at Kavumba Primary School as we join the world in commemorating International Menstrual Hygiene Day.
This initiative is more than just a facility, it is a commitment to dignity, confidence, health and equal opportunity for every girl. Too many girls around the world continue to miss school because of limited access to safe, private and supportive spaces during their menstrual cycles. No girl should have to choose between her education and her period.
We envision a world where every girl can attend school every single day, participate fully in class and pursue her dreams without being limited by menstruation. Creating safe and inclusive school environments is not optional; it is essential for educational equality and gender empowerment.
Menstruation is a natural part of life and it is here to stay. As communities, educators, leaders and changemakers, it is our shared responsibility to break the stigma, promote menstrual health awareness and ensure that girls have access to the resources and spaces they need to thrive.
This Girls’ Changing Room represents hope, care and action. It is a reminder that small, intentional investments can have a life-changing impact on girls’ confidence, attendance and future opportunities.
As we commemorate International Menstrual Hygiene Day, we reaffirm our commitment to building schools where every girl feels safe, respected and empowered. Together, we can create environments where girls are supported not only to stay in school but to succeed and lead.

Cultural institutions are powerful spaces for shaping values, protecting communities, and influencing change. When cultural leaders stand with girls and young women, communities listen differently.
The @KerAlurKingdom support for our work on #EndSGBV is a strong reminder that ending violence against women and girls is not the work of activists alone. It requires the voice, influence, and commitment of cultural, religious, government, and community leaders.
We continue to call upon cultural institutions and leaders to actively support efforts that prevent #SGBV, amplify girls’ and young women’s voices, and create safer communities where they can live, lead, and thrive.
