@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 You, on the other hand, ignore your own logical inconsistencies, use false a prioris, and arbitrarily pull up legal obligations out of your ass because you favor tyranny. You don't care about life, you care about power over women's bodies and the means of reproduction.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 I have been very clear in asserting that a fetus becomes a person when it develops the capacity for thought, and that no person has the right to force another to give of their organs for themselves (& this includes pregnancy) irrelevant of the health consequences to themselves.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 No, it doesn't. You just decided to arbitrarily assign pregnant ppl, including pregnant ppl who were raped, legal obligations out of your ass. You choose to ignore the inconsistency of asserting that sometimes ppl have an obligation to give of their organs but not other times.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 You on the other hand continue to apply a double-standard by asserting bodily autonomy for some but not others. This is illogical but then supporters of tyranny like yourself don't actually care about logical consistency.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 I rebutted that argument by pointing out that forced pregnancy is a form of sexual assault, slavery, and a violation of the right to bodily autonomy.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 I am confusing nothing. I am asserting very clearly that the gov't has no right to force anyone to give of their organs to someone else. That includes forced organ harvesting, AND it includes forced pregnancy. The right to bodily autonomy outweighs other people's medical needs.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 It is quite literally legally compelling a person to give of their uterus to another person.
So you favor the gov't forcing SOME people to give of their organs for others but not OTHER people to give of their organs for others. Logical inconsistency.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 By your logic, if I need a kidney the gov't should be able to force you to donate a kidney to me. After all -- I'm going to die without it.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 Forcing a person to remain pregnant against their will IS the gov't compelling them to donate an organ. It is legally compelling them to donate their uterus.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 And while a fetus with a brain MAY be a person, the state has no right whatsoever to force ppl to give of their organs for another's health. The right of the individual to bodily autonomy outweighs another person's need of their organs.
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 There's a chronic blood shortage. Can the gov't legally force you to donate blood? There are many infertile people who long to be parents - can the gov't force you to donate sperm? To become a surrogate mother?
@danmcdonald111@jules_fun@sarahbbrand @Icomefromthela2 @austenrox165 Can the government compel you to give other things as well? There are a lot of people who need food and shelter urgently or else they'll die - can the gov't compel you to give of your wealth to them beyond what is prescribed by normal taxation? To shelter them in your home?
