The most disturbing outcome of the Michigan primary result is this. @HaleyforMI congratulating a man who has made Israel obsession (antizionism) his entire running ticket. I’d like to translate this to anyone who believes there is still hope for the Democratic Party: what she is saying is that the greatest evil is a Republican candidate. What she is saying is that in her attempt to defeat republicans, she is now in bed with a racist. Antizionism and anti-Americanism are cozy bedfellows.

That is why I prefer the term "Ziomophobia" over "antizionism", the former includes both the architects of denial (of self-determinism) and the mosquitos that spread libels.

Here is why stating that antizionism is the denial of the Jewish people's right to self-determination falls flat. It is, unfortunately, the mistake made by drafters of IHRA. When you have a course such as "Gaza and Genocide" or "Israel/Palestine and Indigenous Rights" (courses taught at Cornell University) there is no overt evidence of denial of Jewish self-determination because a critical step is missed: showing how antizionism libels demonize Jews by erasing and redefining Jewish identity.

The consequential damage of framing antizionism as a denial of Jewish self-determination is that one can reasonably believe that talking about the genocide is born of a genuine concern for human rights. Put differently, how exactly does talking about the "genocide" waged by Israel in Gaza a denial of Jewish self-determination? The missing step is thus to expose how language, here "genocide, apartheid, and colonialism" are not used definitionally but ritually: as accusations whose work is to assign guilt rather than to describe conduct. The giveaway is that they are unfalsifiable. A charge that is genuinely definitional can be argued down: one can dispute intent, contest proportionality, examine the record of warnings, corridors, and casualty ratios, and arrive at "grave violations but not genocide," or at "this element is met and that one is not." A charge that is ritual admits no such adjudication. It is not offered as a hypothesis about facts; it is offered as a verdict about essence, and every fact is metabolized as further proof.

It is thus not enough, or rather, insufficient to characterize antizionism as a denial of Jewish self-determination because such a definition confuses outcome, or conclusion with premise.

Decades after one of Eastern Europe’s most important synagogues was destroyed under Nazi and Soviet rule, archaeologists have uncovered the central dais, or bimah, of the Great Synagogue of Vilnius, Lithuania.

Excavators were able to access the site for the first time after a Soviet-era building that stood over it was destroyed about eight months ago, excavation co-director Jon Seligman of the Israel Antiquities Authority told The Times of Israel. The synagogue, which served as the center of the city’s 60,000-strong Jewish community before the Holocaust, was ransacked by the Nazis in 1941 and then destroyed under the Soviet regime in 1957, he said.

テロの被害者は、The Daily Signalによると長期にわたる法的闘争に直面しています。

被害者に有利な最初の判決は2015年に下されましたが、控訴審で第2巡回控訴裁判所が米国裁判所には管轄権を欠くと判断し、判決は覆されました。最高裁は2018年に原告の控訴を当初棄却しました。

原告らはその後、1992年に改正され、2019年に改正され、パレスチナ攻撃の被害者が連邦裁判所で損害賠償を求めることができるようになった反テロ法に基づき訴訟を起こしました。

最高裁は2025年の判決で2019年の改訂を支持し、被害者の訴訟権を認め、事件の進行を認めました。第2巡回区控訴裁判所は3月30日に6億5600万ドルの判決を復活させ、10年前の判決を覆したとAP通信は伝えています。
