So working 50 to 60 hours a week, taking additional classes, doing extra duties, running school holiday HSC classes, working on weekends (I can go on) isn’t productive enough? How much more goodwill can teachers give? The profession is already at breaking point.

“to have the award arbitrated in the IRC … rather than negotiate salary increases above the salary cap with the profession shows how little they respect the value of teachers’ work and the impact they have on those they teach” https://t.co/dcQpjE9FSz
@ChrisMinnsMP Absolutely disgusting! We wouldn’t allow our students to name call, humiliate or denigrate anyone so publicly in our classrooms. Not acceptable in any situation! Why is it okay for our so called leaders to behave this way? Should have been shut down sooner.
Here’s my take on the latest announcement on planning time for teachers and why it is inadequate and fails to address the crippling workload that is driving teachers away from the profession. #MoreThanThanks🧵 1/6
“The Premier thinks the answer is performance pay… Well let me tell you, Mr Perrottet, teachers are performing over and above the call of duty. They are just not getting paid.” @AGavrielatos #MoreThanThanks#HearOurVoice
Next Thursday I’m going on strike again with my public school and Catholic school colleagues. We are striking for our students. Teachers’ working conditions are students’ learning conditions. We need to fix the teacher shortage by addressing pay and workload. #MoreThanThanks
Explaining why there’s such a shortage of teachers seems to be a simple lesson: modern classrooms are nothing like the places of chalk and talk they once were. #60Mins
My cousin asked a question about the NDIS on #qanda, Albo’s answer was cut off by one of Speers MANY interruptions. After the show, she received a call from @AlboMP himself. Thanking her and answering her NDIS questions. No photo ops or cameras just a great human being. #auspol
Equity in education for all - A fantastic panel discussion hosted by @bushjb sharing impactful stories and contexts is a timely reminder to pause, listen, reflect and respect all abilities #QTiP22
NSW Education Minister condemns the @TeachersFed strike because she doesn't want to see "disruption to students".
But students at Griffith's high school miss up to 400 classes every term due to a chronic teacher shortage the Minister refuses to address.

QTRs are a great way of flattening power hierarchies between Principals, DPs, HTs & ECTs! This makes it so important to have the support & involvement of SLTs. Terrific way to build trust & efficacy within our schools. #QTiP2022
Getting our game on … prepping for QTRs at our respective schools. Day 1 complete. #QTiP22 Interesting discussion on how the QTM and the QTRs can be used to address and disrupt a multiple of inequities in Australian schools.
Representing Doonside Technology High School #MoreThanThanks . Today was not only about advocating for ourselves as educators but more so for our kids. Our children deserve qualified educators, not stopgap measures. Know and value your workforce!
