“Senator Payman’s actions have been a reminder that if we allow it to be, speaking truth to power is the most powerful gift multiculturalism can give”

Thanks for being a voice of reason along with @MehreenFaruqi on an excruciating and disappointing @InsidersABC episode failing to properly contextualise the Fatima Payman saga in the context of over 40,000 killed Palestinians. Do better @ABCTV you’re not newscorp
Thank you for the messages - was a little nervous being back on the couch after a bit away. To respond to a few repeated questions - coat is an old second hand one from Chasing Unicorns.
Boobs and political views - my own. Take care of you x
There is no equivalence between the occupier and the occupied. Between a nuclear power funded to the tune of billions and an impoverished famished civilian population locked in a cage being targeted with thousand pound bombs. Does this require an explainer / really??
That @antoinette_news just produced some of the most critical pieces of journalism then got punished reveals everything about the hostility of this media landscape. It doesn't want ethical reporting & truth telling, it's concerned with preserving the interests of those in power.
Patricia Karvelas out-of-line questioning, badgering, sneering in disdain at her sole Palestinian guest is completely unethical, and a stain on journalism. She is nothing but a stenographer for a racist, pro-genocidal lobby.
Yes, and I saw it in front of my own eyes. A bus load of journalists from Canberra shape the election coverage to make it based on election performance. Well, of course Scotty from Marketing has a leg up.
Catch me on @abcnews tonight with my @SwimSisters hat as part of the election special coverage on key issues in Western Sydney. I’m excited to be able to speak on an issue that has been unjust - the inequitable distribution of funding to pools based on colour coded spreadsheets
it’s wild how much my kids learn in childcare. Childcare debate often framed in “getting women to work” but reality is it gives kids huge headstart for school that many kids just can’t access and puts the already disadvantaged even further behind
It's so sad that so many journalists contacted me yesterday to ask me about Djokovic. I've been in a cage for 9 years, I turn 24 today, and all you want to talk to me about is that.
Pretending to care by asking me how I am and then straight away asking questions about Djokovic.
Putting the costs of RAT tests on those most likely to be infected means shifting even more of the costs of this pandemic onto the working poor. It's not just poor economic policy, it's an intentionally cruel policy. Disgraceful. #auspol
Can’t manage a RAT Covid plan but makes sure he has an offical photographer to get photos of him cooking fish. @ScottMorrisonMP has started
2022 💯 on brand.
Feeling this so much today. I finally tested positive today days into my symptoms that started on holidays in the Gold Coast. I was prepared to cancel flight to quarantine there. PCR test centres closed earlier than stated on the @qldhealth website. 2 RATs came back negative.
Once again this smirking, deceitful, self-saucing charlatan has failed us. There’s a national shortage of booster vax, with appointments cancelled or postponed. Rich businessmen are profiteering from the short supply of RATs. How much longer do we tolerate this clusterfuck ?
Currently trying to prepare for a holiday trip to QLD tomorrow and whether to change the flights because of the delays in testing. We did our tests on Friday so are approaching 72 hours - the @JetstarAirways flight is at 6am. Why can’t RAT’s be accepted now @AnnastaciaMP ?
When a Prime Minister and government start to come undone, fall apart, you can almost feel it, smell it. It was like that with McMahon in 1972…Abbott in 2015. This Morrison rabble is starting to give off the same whiff of death.
@ourcbcity mayor @khal_asfour called out the double standards applied during lockdown while Western Sydney was collectively thrown under the bus by @GladysB. Meanwhile “Minister for Western Sydney” @stuartayresmp sat on his hands & gained a promotion and became Deputy Premier
@stuartayresmp so-called Minister for Western Sydney denies a two-tiered city. What is the point of the role if not to advocate for the region? Essential to acknowledge that the region doesn’t have the same access to health facilities, infrastructure, transport & green space
My community paid a high price for inconsistent lockdown rules. Here’s my piece published in the @smh today - a piece close to my heart and it’s intended to capture the hurt caused to South Western Sydney https://t.co/Khq6yDU2Xr I hope I’ve done justice to the community’s pain.
With council elections coming up on December 4, federal elections in 2022 and State elections in 2023, please maintain the rage and vote out the @AusLiberalParty Action and investment into Western Sydney is needed to heal the divisions and costs of this lockdown #auspol
