Suburbs facing the brunt of #CycloneMichaung way more than core city, which has largely bounced back. The concept of ‘real estate first, civc amenities next’ is clearly not working.

We need more financially empowered village panchayats and municipalities which can provide storm water drains, underground sewage and drinking water. Every area cannot wait to become a corporation to have even the most basic amenities.

Nearly 50+ hrs of no electricity in TNHB colony and few other areas in Korattur. Yesterday, the lineman says power will be restored after two days. No water for even basic needs. Absolutely no response from authorities. @chennaicorp @TThenarasu @mkstalin
