Cold email reply rate this week is either 0.45% or 3.43%, depending on whose benchmark you read (Belkins or Instantly).
Both are right. They divide by different things. Which tells you how much that number is worth.
Like this one. Lots of positive replies and few calls usually means nobody answered them fast enough, or booking a time was a pain.
Rewriting the email for the fifth time won't fix that.
AI SDR demos love one number: how many emails it sends per day. 10k is the usual brag.
Nobody needs 10k. I'd rather watch it pick 12 accounts and explain why those 12.
How I'd set it up: the agent does the research and writes the first draft. A person reads every reply and answers the same day. If it's a small business, I'd move the chat to WhatsApp once they've answered. They check it way more than email.
Kyle Poyar and Maja Voje surveyed 300 B2B software and AI companies. Of the ones doing $1M to $10M ARR, 26% said the founder is still their main way of getting customers.
So a lot of founders are still closing deals after the actual job is done for the day.
@arnavsawantt@CynthiaCider Scary well is the tell. They want to talk now, not at 9am. A text that lands the minute the form does, with a link to grab a call slot, keeps them warm overnight. Happy to show you the setup on a quick call if useful.
Replying to a lead in 5 minutes gets you a conversation.
The second and third follow up get you the booking.
Most teams nail the first and drop the rest.
That's where the pipeline leaks.
How many follow ups does your team actually send?
