I used to spend 8-10 hours a day on this app. Now I open it maybe four or five times, scroll for 10 minutes, can't find a single real post, and close it again.
The algorithm doesn't show me people anymore. It shows me rage bait and recycled TikTok videos.
I came here for conversations. I came here to see what people were actually thinking so I could reply or build on it with my own take. That barely exists now. The timeline is a content mill disguised as a social feed.
So I scaled back. And honestly the unexpected part is how much better everything else got. I'm building things. Networking behind the scenes. Having fun with AI. Playing video games again. Not thinking about the constant grift cycle this app runs on.
I was born in 1986. I remember what it felt like before tech culture ate itself somewhere around 2005-2010. Products were exciting because you stumbled into them. Discovery felt organic. Now everything good gets found, gets popular, and immediately gets squeezed for every dime until the thing that made it good is gone.
That's what happened here. And I don't think it's coming back.
But I'm not mad about it anymore. I'm just spending my time differently.
