We are a water safety foundation devoted to preparing children for a lifetime of swimming safety. All our work is in honor of our namesake, Zachary Archer Cohn.
Summer is over, but water safety remains crucial, especially after drowning rates surged in 2024, claiming the lives of children nationwide and in the tri-state area.

The ZAC Foundation strongly supports #Michigan’s Senate Bill 736, to make #watersafety education mandatory in schools. With 77 #drownings in the #GreatLakes this year alone, this bill addresses the urgent need for awareness across the state.

Since 2020, the national #lifeguardshortage has led to reduced hours or closures at about 1/3 of public pools. With ongoing heat, many pools remain closed, and beaches lack lifeguard coverage, causing a tragic rise in drowning deaths.
