No civilians deserve to be killed in war. None. But if you condemn the deaths of 13 civilians in Saudi while ignoring the hundreds of thousands of Yemenis who were starved & killed during 11 years of Saudi aggression, take a moment to reflect on your selective outrage & humanity.
Breaking: Saudi Arabia has just launched 3 airstrikes on telecom towers in my village, Al-Mahabisha, in #Yemen.
It’s a small, peaceful village. I’ve just video-called people there. Children are still crying, and families remain terrified.
@shireen818 Yemen’s stability means nth to these people. After nearly 11 yrs of Saudi-led war, Yemen is devastated, yet barely acknowledged. It’s about energy, not people. Take away Saudi oil and give it to Yemen. Would they still care this much about Saudi “stability”? I doubt it!! BE JUST
Reading this, you'd think Yemen randomly decided to attack Saudi. You'd have no clue Saudi waged war & blockaded Yemen for 11 years, killing hundreds of thousands, then broke the ceasefire in July, triggering Yemeni retaliation.
Only Ukraine is allowed to defend itself, right?
Saudi operations in Yemen:
3/2015: Decisive Storm
4/2015: Restoring Hope
7/2015: Golden Arrow
1/2017: Golden Spear
6/2018: Golden Victory
10/2026: Dawn of Yemen
Each one is a variation of what they really want to say: Operation Maybe This Time🤞
So what are the Saudis and their Yemeni mercenaries (i.e., the "internationally recognized government") up to?
Filming themselves desecrating the bodies of dead Yemeni fighters and running over captured soldiers, while Saudi aircraft bomb and kill Yemeni schoolgirls.
To the world: Yemenis are no less human than anyone else. We have the same rights, the same dignity, and the same hopes. The difference is that your rights are protected, while ours are too often denied. Yemenis have suffered enough.

Just finished this thoughtful and wide-ranging conversation with @adnanahusain. Thank you, Adnan, for having me on, and for your unwavering solidarity.
How to launder a massacre, @AJEnglish style:
Show victims, including children, but note that "Houthi claims can't be independently verified."
Quickly offer up a "military camp" to justify the carnage.
And don't you dare name the killers: Saudi Arabia & their puppet government.
I had the pleasure of speaking with @daughterofsahel & @penandmachete about Yemen's long history of anti-colonial struggle, the rise of Ansarallah, the US/Saudi/UAE war & blockade, South Yemen's socialist past, & recent developments in the Red Sea: https://t.co/zWQm060CKW
