Working to create islands of elimination with strong local partners in high-burden areas, utilizing a proven, comprehensive, community-based care platform.
The distinguished six-year tenure of South African Minister of Home Affairs Dr Aaron Motsoaledi as Chairperson of the Board of the @StopTB Partnership, comes to a successful close. Thank you Minister for your vision, leadership & dedication to #EndTB.

The deadline for SDGSs 2030 is in 4300 days - ONLY building on each other’s strength, sharing knowledge & platforms & innovate in service delivery together we will succeed @StopTB @GlobalFund @endmalaria @UNITAID @WHO - one roof, one vision
We know and we need to act while we gather more knowledge. Important to ensure that the same intensity and quality of interventions for TB are available in a comprehensive manner in all settings. https://t.co/w9lccoznab
What and an amazing few days it's been with my fellow TB stars, speaking at the UNHLM for TB.
TB is the leading infectious killer in the world, killing more than 1million people each year. Do not be afraid, TB is curable! Let's find those missing cases. @StopTB#BreakTheStigma
“Your Declaration will make a difference only if it is backed by actions. People affected by TB have a burning desire to shake the status quo. Esteemed leaders, I can’t hear you today, but I’ll make sure you hear me – loud & clear.” @nandita_venky#UNHLMTB
Wonderful to host Drs Aamir Khan & Uzma Khan from @IRDGlobal. Sharing knowledge and approaches in implementing a comprehensive approach to eliminate TB @BurnetInstitute@ZEROTBCITIES Impressive work in Karachi and the region!
"Why aren’t outbreaks in poor countries treated the same way as those in rich ones?"
.@NYTimes slams double standards in #TB prevention & care, echoing calls from @ZEROTBCITIES to radically raise ambitions & alter strategy. #SearchTreatPrevent#UNHLMTB

TB elimination is achievable only if we search actively for the disease, give treatment to everyone who needs it, and prioritize prevention strategies. @ZEROTBCITIES@StopTB@s_keshavjee https://t.co/TNOFT9P8ie
@cdmitpih@nytimes Indeed, a shocking misunderstanding of value of preventive care (that the editorial board doesn't share, apparently). This one paper should have at a minimum encouraged programs to intensify preventive treatment among recent contacts!
@nytimes gets it wrong. Even if most TB occurs within 2 years of infection, prevention of active TB can still save millions of lives and $. False dichotomy between preventing and treating #tuberculosis. Both are essential to humanity. #hlmtb https://t.co/03nKyF1lXh
