@Misanthropist_X@devahaz I miss a lot of places, but Stars was really something, both for the food and the scene. I think your list is great, and I particularly loved Slow Club back in the early dot com boom days, when that area was still "Multimedia Gulch."
@Scott_Wiener Funny how you won't take credit for your own handiwork now that you want people's votes. Maybe you should've told your developer friends to hold off on debuting the plans until after the election.
@lcwhitlock14 In the YIMBY fantasy world all those residents will only have bicycles and/or will be using the highly efficient public transit that will no doubt will be built to accommodate them...
@carlatcole@Noahpinion Funny thing is, back when the Cathedral Hill Towers (East and West) were built in the '60s, they were advertised by the developer as being a bit of suburbia in the heart of the City. Presumably because the units all had balconies and dedicated parking spaces.
@baseballcrank@JamesSurowiecki Not at all the same. You don't register to buy cigarettes and liquor, so a check has to be performed at each purchase if there is reason to believe someone is underage. We *register* to vote, and there are safeguards in place to provide ballots only to registered voters.
@T_student_T@McCormickProf You think the FCC and Carr don't have pressure points to use on Nexstar and Sinclair? Their overreach into buying up massive numbers of "locally owned" stations has been subject to review and litigation for years, and they presently want the FCC to remove more regulations.
@Scott_Wiener Your oil soaked asphalt park is not popular, you putz. Wreck and Park is counting people crossing the highway to go to the beach (which is, and has always been, popular).
@growing_daniel Sorry, but SF is really just the Frankfurt am Main of America. Pleasant, economically important, but not "world class," as its leaders often contend it is.
@jimgeraghty Since the '80s I've said my generation (even before they deigned to name us 'Gen X') would be the "put-upon generation," paying for Boomers' retirement benefits while their self-entitled offspring took ours away from us. We're just about there now.
