Today is International Day of Play. Do you know play is one of children’s rights?
Yet for too many children, a safe space to play is not always guaranteed due to fear & insecurity.
This International Day of Play, let's work towards a Nigeria where every child can play in safety.
We can't keep blaming d FG for every problem. We shape d children who become d adults we complain about.
Take the issue of out-of-school in d North, FG has a role to play, but so do parents. They're nonchalant about their children's education.
Fix d root, & d stem will grow right
For goodness sake...
Your wards are still outside roaming the streets at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm....
Then you wonder where theft, delinquency, and other social vices come from.
Is this the best level of guidance and supervision you can afford to give your children as parents?
🤌🏻 Imagine

I had the honour of joining the National Girls in ICT Commemoration Dinner. I commend Her Excellency, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, for her inspiring passion for the girl child, and the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijjani, for sustaining this platform and championing a new generation of female digital leaders in Nigeria.
Through NESRI, AGILE, the LUMINAH 2030 Initiative, and our digital literacy programmes, the Federal Ministry of Education is investing in the future of our girls.
On #WorldEnvironmentDay, @UNESCO designates 14 new #BiosphereReserves across 14 countries, bringing the World Network of Biosphere Reserves to 797 sites in 145 countries!
Three countries welcome their first biosphere reserves: Montenegro, Timor-Leste, and Aruba which sees its entire territory designated as such.
These territories are living examples of how people and nature can thrive together: protecting biodiversity, supporting sustainable development and strengthening local communities.

A Gift of Peace
Ten years on, Muhammad Ali still speaks—through a painting of the United Nations headquarters he once created.
Everyday, as I pass by it, I am reminded that peace is forged by those who refuse to accept violence as the final word.

Today, I had the honour of officially handing over ICT equipment and materials to 15 Teacher Training Institutions across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones.
This intervention, donated by the Government of Japan through UNESCO-IICBA, reflects our shared commitment to strengthening teacher education and expanding access to quality, inclusive learning. Teachers remain the backbone of every education system. With these laptops, tablets, smart boards, projectors, printers, and other digital tools, our colleges of education will be better equipped to train teachers who can meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital world. This intervention is about improving digital literacy, promoting innovative teaching methods, and creating more engaging and inclusive learning environments, especially for vulnerable learners. It also aligns with our priority areas of quality education, digitization, STEM, TVET, and girl-child education.
I sincerely appreciate UNESCO-IICBA, the Government of Japan, the African Union, and all our partners for their support. I urge these beneficiary institutions to make the best use of these resources as we work together to build a stronger and more responsive education system for Nigeria.
