🗓️ #EB158 began today in Geneva.
👏 The WHO Director-General opened the session and welcomed the adoption of the #HLM4 Political Declaration, which includes concrete targets to address the growing global burden of NCDs. He mentioned many other NCD-related points:

✅ He emphasised the potential of health taxes and WHO’s 3×35 initiative in protecting public health.

✅The Director-General also commended countries advancing the elimination of trans fatty acids from the food supply.

✅The Maldives were acknowledged as the first country to implement a generational tobacco ban. (@MaldivesNCDA).

✅He also applauded the global commitment to halve deaths from human-generated air pollution by 2040.
