Double standards of Modi. From Italy to China but no word for Manipur tribals suffering in the hands of government sponsored kuki terror group. The indigenous people are dying while the government is busy erecting a state for the refugees coming from Burma. @Paari_Athouba

COPTAM-KH Demands Arrest Over Alleged Forgery, Eviction Threats Against Leilon Vaiphei Village
Churachandpur, 20 May 2026: — The Committee on Protection of Tribal Areas Manipur - Kuki Hills (COPTAM-KH) has demanded immediate legal action against Konsakhul (Konsaram) Village Authority members for alleged forgery and threats of forcible eviction against Leilon Vaiphei Village in Kangpokpi District.
In a press statement dated 20 May 2026, COPTAM-KH condemned a memorandum dated 28 January 2025 issued by Konsakhul Village Authority to the Chief and residents of Leilon Vaiphei Village. The group said the memorandum contained direct threats of eviction and warnings of possible "bloodshed," creating fear among tribal villagers.
COPTAM-KH questioned the authenticity of a purported 1920 "lease agreement" circulated by Konsakhul, noting it appeared to be written with modern ballpoint pen ink, which was not available in Manipur in 1920. The committee alleged the document was fabricated to distort history and falsely claim ownership over Leilon Vaiphei Village and adjoining lands.
The committee demanded:
1. Immediate FIR against those responsible for the threatening memorandum.
2. Arrest and interrogation of Konsakhul Village Authority leaders.
3. Forensic examination of the disputed document.
4. Security for Leilon Vaiphei residents.
5. Intervention by the Manipur Government and MHA to prevent communal tension in Kangchup Geljang Sub-Division.
COPTAM-KH warned that failure to act could embolden anti-social elements and destabilize law and order in Manipur’s hill areas. It appealed to all tribal communities to maintain peace while resisting attempts to distort tribal history.
