Not at all! This is just getting a rough gestural framework for a pose. I've done this before to get the base of a pose figured out (especially difficult/more ambitious poses), and then build upon it from there.

When you place your character's eyes on the horizon line/eye level you're looking at them (in the eyes) as if you're the same height so when your eyes move down to their feet/shoes it's as if you're looking 'down' on them even tho it's a 2d image. Plus drawing flat feet sucks!
