@beauboesnbarzy Yes. If you do not sign with an NHL team you can remain with your current team, or play in Europe/Russia. After a few years unsigned your NHL rights expire and you’d either become a free agent or your name goes back on the list for another draft.
@Bob_Janke The first US air squadron to enter combat did so in Feb 1918. The Red Baron died in April 1918.
Given the apparent length of their rivalry, and Snoopy’s use of the British Sopwith, it is likely that Snoopy ‘went north’ to Canada to volunteer prior to the USA entering the war.
@planfromspace The UK is maybe the only country whose own citizenship laws don’t use the name of the country to describe a citizen. “A person born in the United Kingdom… shall be a British citizen”
A British citizen. There’s no such thing as a United Kingdom citizen.
@WrigleyHawkeye@brndxix Zero risk of that. Group D has no third world countries, and in the knockout stages it’s impossible to lose to a bunch of countrries the maximum number of losses you can have in the knockout stage is one
So, you’re good. The USA could lose to one 3rd world country, max
@brndxix It would be like if an arena football team was granted an emergency NFL franchise and then went on to immediately won the Super Bowl. The legitimate contending teams are on a completely different level to the USA
@EileenChollet The water was exported one freighter at a time to Naboo, which had better political connections and wanted that watery look,
I may have stolen this from the oxygen subplot of Spaceballs.
@vrsaljak Back in 2002 (Korea/Japan), my local sports bar in Montreal opened 24/7. For a month. Due to Quebec liquor laws, they couldn’t serve alcohol from 3 to 9, but they’d take your orders and would have pitchers and shots ready right at 9 if you wanted.
@brihard@mattgurney If Canada is looking for a lower-cost platform to use against 3rd tier adversaries that don’t require the full capabilities of F-35, then there’s a strong argument for F-16 Block 70/72.
But it’s not really about value, is it? It’s about not buying American.
@Lord_Beesus@Tiare_MP Canada’s constitution locks in the Monarchy even more than Australia. Changes to the Monarchy in Canada requires unanimous approval from all ten provinces, as well as the federal level. And some of those provinces are, shall we say, notoriously uncooperative with each other.
@phil_proulx@davidakin Airport logistics is a brutal blood sport where you’re at the mercy of your suppliers
In Canada this has somehow become a hotbutton issue for the PMO and RCAF, but I’m not sure what they’re supposed to do about it. Some kind of VTOL fleet that can land in Walmart parking lots?
