A significant step has been taken to honour the brave sons of Bijnor. The Bhoomi Pujan (foundation stone ceremony) for the construction of the Shaheed Stambh (Martyrs' Memorial) was conducted today by the Bijnor Municipal Council.
This memorial will stand as a lasting tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of our martyrs, inspiring generations to come. Honouring our heroes is honouring the nation.

Special Thanks to Smt Jasjit Kaur(IAS) DM Bijnor & Smt Indira Singh Chairperson (President) of the Nagar Palika Parishad Bijnor, for positive support to make this possible 🇮🇳

On the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a solemn tribute and felicitation ceremony was held at the Zila Sainik Kalyan & Rehabilitation Office, Meerut, to honour the supreme sacrifice of our Kargil heroes.

Hon'ble Dr. Somendra Tomar, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Political Pension, Sainik Welfare & PRD, Government of Uttar Pradesh, paid floral tributes to the martyrs and felicitated 21 Kargil War veterans and Veer Naris. Brigadier Atul Kumar, SM (Retd), Director, Sainik Welfare & Rehabilitation, Uttar Pradesh, reaffirmed the Government's commitment to the welfare of veterans, Veer Naris, and martyr families.

The occasion also marked the release of "Veer Gatha," a short documentary produced by FTII Pune under the aegis of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare & Rehabilitation, Uttar Pradesh, celebrating the courage, patriotism, and supreme sacrifice of the state's brave soldiers.

The ceremony witnessed the participation of a large number of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, serving personnel, martyr families, and distinguished citizens, united in paying homage to India's brave heroes.

Brigadier Atul Kumar, SM (Retd.), Director, Rajya Sainik Board, Uttar Pradesh, visited the Zila Sainik Kalyan Evam Punarvas Karyalaya, Meerut, on 15 July 2026. During his visit, he paid floral tribute to the bust of Maha Vir Chakra awardee 2nd Lt. Shyamal Dev (S. D.) Goswami, MVC, honouring the supreme sacrifice and valour of the gallant hero of the 1962 Indo-China War.

The Director conducted a comprehensive inspection of the office and reviewed its overall functioning to assess the implementation of various welfare initiatives for Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, and their dependents. He interacted with Veer Naris and the office staff, acknowledged their unwavering commitment and dedicated service towards the welfare of the veteran community, and encouraged them to continue their exemplary efforts with the same spirit of professionalism and compassion.

As a mark of appreciation for the commendable work being carried out by the office, Brigadier Atul Kumar, SM (Retd.), presented a memento to the Zila Sainik Kalyan Evam Punarvas Karyalaya, Meerut, in recognition of its valuable contribution to the welfare and rehabilitation of Ex-Servicemen and their families.

On the 81st birth anniversary of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC (Posthumous), the #IndianAirForce pays tribute to his valour and supreme sacrifice.

In the 1971 War, he took on a numerically superior enemy with exceptional courage and made the supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation. For this valiant act he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra (Posthumous).

His legacy continues to inspire generations of Air Warriors.

True leadership begins with understanding the people you lead. As part of the Young Officers' Orientation Capsule, newly commissioned officers of the #RajputRegiment spent a day alongside #Agniveers of AV-09 batch, sharing their daily routine, training and experiences.

By living, learning and training together, the young officers gained valuable insight into the journey that transforms determined youth into disciplined, combat-ready soldiers. The experience fostered mutual respect, strengthened camaraderie and reinforced the timeless military principle that effective leadership is built on empathy, trust and leading by example.
