I don't like to talk about my private beliefs but it's relevant today.
I come from an Orthodox Christian family. I was baptised. So is my son. I don't go to Church every week but more and more, thanks to my friend @MrWinMarshall.
My only connection to Jewishness is my grandfather, a staunch atheist, who was ethnically Jewish.
To be very clear, I am delighted about my ancestry. As delighted as I am about being Russian, Ukrainian and Greek. And especially grateful for the IQ bump.
But even as someone who is only a little bit Jewish, I have seen a dramatic turn in the last 2 years. One of the things I pride myself on is thinking things through and showing my working. That's how I see my job, really. To take ideas, interrogate them and explain what I think the correct conclusion may be. Since October 7, the number of far left and far right scumbags who try to use my grandfather's ancestry against me to suggest that I can't possibly believe anything I believe other than by virtue of my ancestry has skyrocketed.
I can't imagine how actual Jews are feeling. Blamed for the actions of a government many of them don't support in a country many have never visited. Smeared, lied about and now murdered. Watching ancient blood libels rediscovered and swallowed wholesale by a generation who are too ignorant of history to spot them.
The simple truth is, everyone in Europe owes @DouglasKMurray a massive apology. He was right about everything. The only question is, is it too late to do anything about it?
@Seanchuckle I love the use of "investing" in these articles. These people honestly think they're entrepreneurs rather than lazy rentiers with a scruple missing.
@iainmartin1 We exported £356b to the EU and £60b to the US in 2023. Even if your point is true at this moment, it's not even remotely a net benefit of Brexit. Like appreciating the fresh air after your roof caves in.
@IncognitoMV@janusvh2@afneil Did they fuck off? Really? To where? The Beatles stayed here. And they paid it. And they were arguably the most mobile millionaires imaginable.
I try not to pearl-clutch regarding AI but watching the work of the world's greatest living animator be appropriated, bastardised, and churned out via a calculator, is a real fucking low point.
Congratulations to the number one news app. There was a major earthquake in Myanmar six hours ago and I have seen precisely nothing about it between sickening AI slop and the usual Musk-driven bullshit.
@ScottAdamsSays Yeah, keep saying that all that until it's true. Even to idiots, they look like idiots, and that's not reversible. Get ready for Trump to dump one or more of them, and your inevitable reversal.
@georgegalloway@elonmusk Nobody suppressed anything. It was a reply. Replies get fewer views because they are less likely be seen on a user's timeline. The vast majority of views are people scrolling through their timeline.
For the past two weeks, @SocialSecurity has begun a major cleanup of their records. Approximately 3.2 million numberholders, all listed age 120+, have now been marked as deceased. More work still to be done.
@Seanchuckle "That £25224 a year of discounted rent should be going to a private landlord but the problem I have identified is the virtual money saved by nobody."
