Why can nobody talk about the hostages? Do their lives mean nothing?

Everybody has free license to talk about Gaza, as they should to raise awareness—which I wish would also be applied to the Israeli hostages in Gaza—but such content is never rebuffed and attacked with mass “‘what about’ the hostages?” In response.

It’s actually not possible to talk about the hostages at all. It’s not possible talk about them without being accused of loving genocide. It’s not possible to mourn their tragic deaths without being met with floods of “what about” Gazan death comments, as though it’s a competition.

This is such a cruel fate to enforce upon innocent civilians.

Where is the humanity?

Where are all the human rights organizations? Why are they eerily silent about brutalized young girls held in captivity of violent militias for 7 months, then their disfigured bodies later recovered? Where are the feminists?

You aren’t on the right side of history. If you’re on a “side,” you’re already wrong. Humanity has no sides.

The cruelest monsters in history were also convinced they were on the right side of history, and it’s this conviction in some infallibly correct position with no lines or limits that engenders the greatest acts of evil, all in the name of what’s “right.”

This is not a competition. Your “what abouts” are not just wrong, they are cruel, undignified, and regrettable.

I can’t believe I have to explain what’s happening here, but here goes. Elite students of Ivy League schools have glamorized oppression so much that they have now reached role play status to satisfy their fantasies. Here, the students have appropriated the suffering of Gazans and are cosplaying as living through humanitarian crisis. In their American make-believe story where Ivy League infrastructure sets the scene, the students play Gazans and the school administration plays Israel.

Israel (the school) is blocking their “basic humanitarian aid” in this play, and if they don’t receive it soon, they will “die of thirst and starvation” (appropriating exact experiences of Gazans). They also destroy upper class buildings and claim them as “liberated” while the students repeat chants in zombie-like chorus, playing the roll of “freedom fighters” destroying Israeli infrastructure and claiming them freed. If I’m alive in a world where people don’t see the levels of perversion in this, I give up.

You don’t see this in lower tier schools from kids of lower socio-economic standing because they aren’t plagued with the guilt of privilege that they’re seeking to launder through Middle East role plays of feigned suffering. This is as first world dystopia as it gets.

Meanwhile, these Ivy League students who can have much more than a glass of water and as much food as their stomachs can take are commanding the attention of the media and the entire American audience, while actual Gazans who need humanitarian aid are ignored. I still have to pinch myself that people don’t see this.

Heed my warning.

Raised with an infinite love for Palestine and a profound animosity towards Jews and Israel, I adhered sincerely to these beliefs because they were all I knew. During my pursuit of knowledge, I lived with a Jewish family in France in 2010, an experience that unveiled realities previously unknown or misrepresented to me in my youth. Radical Islamism conceals the truth, coercing its adherents to embrace falsehoods and reject substantial and historical truths.

I assure you, I am not an agent compensated for my activism; I have paid the price for speaking out. Why do I persist? Because I was once deceived by the very lies and misconceptions I earnestly believed. This is why I implore you to heed my warning: justice for Palestinians cannot be achieved through mass intimidation and protests that deface your national symbols. You are unfamiliar with the true significance of their chants; you do not understand Arabic nor are you well-versed in the culture.

I genuinely care for the innocent Palestinians and advocate for Israelis and Palestinians to coexist peacefully. However, I am unequivocally opposed to Hamas and radical Islamists, knowing them far more intimately than you could imagine. I understand how they lead their followers to peril.

I have endeavored to grasp the intentions behind many "Pro-Palestine" activists. They seek the destruction of Israel, the annihilation of Jews, and they propagate hatred vehemently. You do not comprehend their language—I do, as a native Arab. Trust me, I am acutely aware of the racism and misconduct that can be obscured by radical Islam.

I urge you to remain alert, to see through their camouflage and disguise. Be vigilant.

The leader of the most brutal, oppressive police state in the world—where police beat, rape, torture, and shoot out the eyes of protestors—tweets that people in west are waking up to Israel and America. He’s not wrong, is he? While the world remains asleep to the daily mass slaughters from Syria to Iran to Sudan to Yemen etc where fundamentalism, extremism, and despotism is met with tumbleweed by western “anti-imperialists” because it doesn’t align with their savior narrative. It’s also worth noting that the Supreme Leader is tweeting on a platform which is banned in Iran, praising free speech and free assembly that is also illegal in Iran, and celebrating protestors abroad while lynching them at home.

This weekend at Columbia and Yale, student demonstrators did all of the above—only it was directed at Jews. They told Columbia students to “go back to Poland.” A Jewish woman at Yale was assaulted with a Palestinian flag. And an Orthodox rabbi at Columbia told students to go home for their safety.

People are okay with Iranians showing solidarity towards:

- Palestinians
- Yemenis
- Syrians
- Lebanese
- Afghans

Etc. But draw the line when showing solidarity towards:

- Israelis

Why? What happened to all humans are humans? Why can’t it be and/both? From the beginning, I made best efforts to stand inclusively in solidarity with all and to caution against making this a zero sum game, but just the mention of any support for Israelis crosses every line for those determined to disunite, disturb, and disrupt the Middle East. These are our neighbors too, why should we exclude them?

We get it, you hate their government. Do you love the governments of the other countries listed?

History repeats itself over and over, and in 2024 we’re still unable to learn from and contemplate the downstream effects of hating and ostracizing people based on their nationality or ethnicity.

I can’t wait for the day that Iran is free and we can stand shoulder to shoulder in unity and solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the region. All of us, as family.

I am 100% sure Palestinians should have their own land + self governance. I’m 100% sure they had Gaza handed over in 2006 with all Israelis forcibly removed by Israel. WHEN Palestinians and supporters understand that when a murderous terror group that refuses to accept Israel and futilely continues threatens and acts to attack it, make it feel insecure, make it feel eternal pain (children forced to watch mothers raped + fathers beheaded)––that Israel cannot stop until that threat is eliminated, that fire extinguished so that it no longer existentially threatens its people

But to refuse to understand or relent against a people that have been ejected from every country in the region, whose direct parents and grandparents were killed by ACTUAL GENOCIDE of 10,000 jews a day in execution gas chamber factories of death.

THAT is the obstacle to peace.
Understand that Israelis just want to be left alone—IN PEACE––and we will have peace. Refuse to give them peace and threaten death––and we will have war + death.

We like living.
We don’t like dying.

Our enemy, radical Islamic Hamas, loves and celebrates death.

We have none of this.
We go to war, never with joy or frivolity;

We have a citizens’ army. Everybody’s kids go and serve together, merit-based.

You have the boys of CEOs, teachers, merchants and policemen serving all in one platoon.

So it’s very personal for us.

We’re not sending “other people’s” boys to war.

It’s us. It’s me.

My children will have to serve too.

Gassan - Jews were expelled from Judea and Samaria (Israel) several times starting almost 3,000 year ago.

Many Jews stayed. It is our ancestral land. 900k Jews were there when the UN created a state in 1948. Every Arab country attacked Israel the day it became an official country in 1948. 750,000 Arabs left. Some at the behest of the Arab countries, some fleeing war.

The Jews allowed Muslims to become citizens from day one. ~150k did so. Today they are 1.5m citizens of Israel afforded rights Jews don’t have in Arab lands. Afforded rights THEY THEMSELVES DON’T HAVE in Arab lands. (Gay rights just one example).

Palestinians deserve a state. But to be clear there wasn’t historically a “Palestinian country” and many of the inhabitants came from other places (Egypt, Syria, etc).

Disputing land is messy and no side is perfect. There are disputed lands globally including some who think the US shouldn’t control Hawaii, Puerto Rico, etc.

Land disputes form the basis of most wars and settlements after form the basis of peace. One side has accepted the “land for peace” trade. Hamas has never accepted this, neither did the PLO. Which is one the Palestinians lack a state that they should have.

I’m sure to be attacked for basic, accepted history. Many don’t like the actual facts. But they mostly don’t like Jews.
