While surveying continues late this afternoon along the tracks we are able to confirm two tornadoes so far in our area. #ILwx (1/3)

Surveys have wrapped up for the evening. We are able to confirm one additional tornado in Will County which includes the Mokena area and caused damage consistent with an EF-1. This puts us at 3 tornadoes confirmed so far for 8/11. #ILwx #INwx

@JolietWeather If im not mistaken texas holds the record for most tornadoes in a single year of 232. Will Illinois best this record? I wonder. Also the fact that weve nearly thripled our average each year for 4 years is wild. Illinois is tornado alley
