They should give Casey Mears the 48 car for it. He canโt be much worse than the talentless fuckin hack in it rn. Mears would be able to run 25th in it just like the driver they currently have in it.
@drizz_81 05 was prolly the hottest he got tho winning 5 outta a 7 race span. 06 he never really got going from hurting his back in the 600, he did win Daytona in July, maybe coulda won Loudon but I think he got junked by Newman if I remember right. 07 he kinda got back to form tho.
You ainโt kidding. 5 wins in 7 races from Sonoma to Watkins Glen. 8 yr old me was a very happy kid. ๐ I was at the Watkins Glen race which he dominated. This Brickyard win is one of my favorites of his career. My childhood hero living out his dream that day.
@drizz_81 Always had to be patient with smoke every year felt similar. You come out and run well at Daytona (shoulda had a few of them) then heโd be up and down result wise, and Iโd just tell myself donโt worry heโll get hot in June like always! ๐
@pitbynumbers Itโs time to blow it all up. I was an AB fan. I canโt do it anymore. Iโve watched a ton of onboard footage/ radio and his communication for what the car does and what he needs is not good. It sounds nothing like any other driver. The team isnt good either itโs a dumpster fire tbh
This is the 48 team in one clip. A fast car, a mid-corner pit call, and somebody else's wrecked race.
Nobody has to be the villain for the whole thing to be broken. Fast cars, broken Sundays, every week.
Blow it up at the end of the year. New crew chief. New pit box. New driver. Total rebuild. The 48 deserves better than what the 48 has become. #NASCAR
I'm so aggravated that this is even a discussion. Race was sold out, a ton of money's been poured into and the whole talk of the weekend is "boy we sure messed up leaving" and now we're asking if we should come back?
Iโm gonna have to stay off X this week. Between those bozoโs on the Teardown and the people on here complaining about the race last night, Iโm about to lose my mind.
That was GOOD racing last night. Top 5 short track race of the NEXTGEN era.
Can be improved, yes.
The problem isnโt the track. We need cars that can follow. Gen 7 defenders will say โdirty air has always been a thingโ to no end, but this video destroys your argument. Dirty air is always a thing but the severity can be limited if you design a good car
Tim Richmond won the 1986 Summer 500 at Pocono forty years ago today. ๐
Richmond won three Winston Cup races in a row at Pocono in 1986 and 1987.

Iโm prolly in the minority here. But I really enjoyed that race. Idc how many cars were on the lead lap, or the 22 dominance. There were comers and goers all night. Very solid race that didnโt feel fabricated by stage breaks or other bs honestly.
Hopefully bowman is out next year, and we get someone better in the seat. Iโve tried for almost 10 years to give him the benefit of the doubt, itโs just time. Hes underperformed in that car far too long.
