@BronxBmbrz Like every team will hit a skid in a 162 game season but the Yankees decided to start making Dave Gettleman level FO decisions alongside this one and I’ve never seen anything like it
@BobbyMilone29 It’s odd.
The Yankees seem to completely change their decision-making process to be as incompetent as humanly possible during these swoons.
Every team goes through a slump over a 162 game season, but you don’t see other organizations completely tank off the field during them.
Like every team goes through losing streaks and skids over a 162 game season. That’s normal.
The Yankees hit those skids and then decide to dig their heels in and exacerbate things every year.
It’s genuinely weird how for like… 10/12 months of the year, the Yankees are by all metrics on and off the field a very competent organization.
And then for the other two months (usually June and/or July) they decide to make every wrong decision humanly possible.
Manager Aaron Boone just burned his most valuable reliever by WAR for a rubber game because the GM didn't use the Carlos Rodon injury to waive the 15-day wait period to recall an optioned RP like Yerry/Yovanny and instead decided to just keep Spencer Jones up for one more day.
Happy Bobby Bonilla Deferral Day: Bonilla is set to collect another $1.193 million from the New York Mets today, as he will each July 1st through the year 2035.
@MatthewKass@DevRickus This is exactly what’s going to happen.
Extremely smart in the long run but it’s going to feel very disappointing in the moment.
