@MinEffortLive My assumption is that Villeneuve decided to pad out the third movie by adapting elements from Children of Dune and ending the story instead of making more films. Everyone seems to be ready to move on, with Villeneuve already starting to work on his Bond movies.
@marlaseraphine I do find it suspicious that Steven Soderbergh was at the ready with no delay in production necessary. Even Tombstone had a delay a two days when they fired their director and “replaced” him with someone else (it was secretly Kurt Russell).
@marlaseraphine I know that Greta Gerwig was required to have a backup director for Barbie because she was pregnant during production. Her backup director was Peter Weir, who did The Truman Show.
@TomDohertyfilm@dave_kehr This is the 2002 version, which was never submitted to the MPAA because it was only screened once in the UK. Since this is a new version being released in theaters, it has to be resubmitted. A group of naked nuns defiling a statue of Jesus is going to get you an NC-17.
@israel_elects@JewishPolicy The left-wing in Israel kinda died with the failure of the 2000 Camp David Summit. The left staked everything on these talks, and not only did they fail, the failure lead to the Second Intifada. That killed the peace movement in Israel.
@thedrbryte She was asking for Beatle money. She didn’t deserve Beatle money. Pattie Boyd and Maureen Starkey didn’t even get Beatle money in their divorces.
@Hezbolsonaro She lost in 2010 because she chose to prioritize DC fundraisers over campaigning in Massachusetts because it was cold. She believed winning the primary was enough. She was also unpopular with the liberal faction of the party because she tried to coverup police misconduct.
@LothWolffe The protagonist in that one survives because she chooses not to receive anything from the Cenobites. Any wish or promise they grant will be warped and distorted, so she tells them that she wants nothing from them. She chooses the Lament Configuration, which is just human life.
@IMDBorg Or what’s more likely is that after Flanagan left the project to make his Exorcist movie and Carrie series, the new director hired a guy to rewrite some of Flanagan’s dialogue while maintaining the story structure of Flanagan’s script.
@PositivFuturist@7pab6awd Oh there’s no way in Hell Labour calls an early election. They’re not that stupid. They read the polling information. They know calling an election will only mean a coalition government with the Greens and Lib Dems at best and a hung parliament and another election at worst.
@DrewKnows_ Should also point out that the distributer purchased the theatrical and streaming rights for $50 million. The movie itself cost $75 million, so Warner Bros. lost $25 million. Ketchup probably made a slight profit off the theatrical release, and will make more on streaming.
