I’m saddened to hear of the passing away of Imran Vanker and his daughter Sara in a tragic motor accident in the Free State today.
Imran is the chairman of the Audit Committee of the United Nations and the director of standards at the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) and convenes both the Audit and Ethics Committee and the Committee for Auditing Standards in South Africa. He has also served as a public member of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB). He was the serving chair of the Greenside Mosque. His daughter was a final year medical student .
