I miss my home. I miss my beautiful home. I miss my family. I miss my friends. Gaza is full of love, laughter and dreams despite 17 years of blockade and constant Israeli aggressions. Gaza was full of life before and despite everything we were living through under occupation, we never stopped dreaming, we never stopped smiling, and most importantly we never stopped living. No place in the world is like my home, nothing is like Gaza. We are people just like you, who have dreams, who love life and who deserve to live in freedom and dignity.

-All of these videos were taken before the genocide started… some of the people in the video have been killed.. some of the laughs I’ll never be able to hear again, some of the gatherings I’ll never be able to have again. Most of the places in the video have been completely destroyed… my beautiful precious world is completely destroyed..

I keep writing and deleting cause I can’t find the words to describe the level of loss we Gazans are feeling right now. Can you imagine your whole world being wiped out? Everything. The level of destruction we’re seeing is beyond any words. Our homes, our landmarks, our schools, our universities, our restaurants, literally everything. Israel’s intent was to always remove Gaza from the map. They destroyed our city intentionally. They bombed our ancient landmarks to remove any proof of Palestinian history… I just can’t explain what I feel when I’m seeing all of my favourite places flattened. My whole city flattened. Everything I grew up with flattened.

On September 23, 1988, Ernest and Anneke Robinson welcomed the birth of their son, Matthew Stanford Robinson.

Matthew was born with severe disabilities. Due to a lack of oxygen, he was blind and paralyzed from the neck down.

Doctors said Matthew would only live for a few hours, but somehow, Matthew lived to be 10-and-a-half years old.

When it came time for Matthew to rest in 1999, Ernest decided his gravestone should be beautiful and unique, depicting Matthew in his truest form and signify hope rather than grief.
