Great news Walter and Team! The finding that α-copaene, a sesquiterpene, is highly effective at repelling the Asian Citrus Psyllid, is very promising. Along with the previously studied β-caryophyllene, this new compound adds another tool for managing this pest.
Wondering why Hyalomma adults quest on trees? Ungulates (deer, wildboar) like to rub over the tree, then grasping adults. Most probably engorged nymphs molt in the ground, then newly molted adults climb the tree.
The first International Congress of Entomology in Asia was in the same venue as @ice2024kyoto_jp. 2,259 delegates attended (1,138 from Japan). The Chair of the Council was a Brazilian - Jose Carvalho. This time, 3,700 from 77 countries have already registered (900 are from Japan)
