Serious concern: Iqra Bhutto (Lady Constable, FIA CBC Islamabad) approached for assistance in her suspension matter, but later bypassed all official coordination. Despite being assigned as Manager, I was blocked while she pushed for direct access to my boss (a senior journalist).
Look at this video. This is the side of Balochistan the State and its critics are lazy to confront.
After every terrorist incident, we rush to record the terror and the grief. But we never acknowledge what happens minutes later, when the crowd stops being a victim and starts behaving like a mob.
People don’t gather to welcome the Sarmachars. They gather to take.
This is not resistance. This is not political anger. This is not deprivation. This is a collapse of civic sense.
For decades, we have built a narrative that everything wrong here is because of an external oppressor. We repeat that our rights are being stolen, our resources taken, our people deprived. Yet in these moments, there is no outsider present. No Punjab. No federation. No state.
Only us. And what we choose to do.
When a terror site becomes a place to loot and celebrate, it exposes something far deeper than political deprivation. It exposes moral and social deprivation. A fracture in the social fabric that no development package, no budget allocation, and no political slogan can repair on its own.
The lazy narrative is, “The state failed to provide resources.” But here is a fact we avoid discussing: many recent recruits into terrorist groups come from educated backgrounds. They are not illiterate. They have had access to schools, universities, and exposure.
What is missing is not education an resources. What is missing is “tarbiat”. Civic education. Moral grounding. Social responsibility.
And this is exactly where the state must now focus.
Because the state can build schools, but it must now ensure those schools build citizens, not just degree holders. It must invest in civic education, character building, and social conditioning with the same seriousness as it invests in infrastructure and security.
At the same time, families and society must recognize their role. Upbringing cannot be outsourced.
Look carefully at these visuals. They tell an uncomfortable truth: the crisis is no longer only structural or political. It is social.
A society that harms itself cannot convincingly argue that only others are harming it.
If we genuinely want dignity, rights, and progress, the conversation must shift from:
“Who is doing this to us?”
to
“What are we doing to ourselves?”
And the answer to that question is where both society and the state must begin their real work.
