Invest America (or "Trump Accounts") is a federal initiative launching in 2026 that provides a $1,000 U.S. Treasury-seeded investment account for every American child born between 2025 and 2028 with a Social Security number. Designed to promote long-term wealth building, these accounts allow up to $5,000 in annual private contributions, are invested in low-cost index funds, and aim to grow significantly by age 18.
Key details of the Invest America program include:
Funding & Growth: The initial $1,000 is intended to grow through compound interest over 18 years, with potential foradditional contributions from parents, family, and employers.
Account Structure: Funds are invested in broad, low-cost funds (e.g., S&P 500), growing tax-deferred.
Eligibility & Signup: Children born 2025–2028 with a Social Security number are eligible. Signup options include tax filings, Form 4547, or an online portal launching in summer 2026.
Usage: The program aims to provide a financial head start for young people, with funds accessible after age 18, taxed at capital gains rates.
Purpose: The initiative seeks to address wealth inequality, promote financial literacy, and give all children a stake in the American economy.
The program has been referred to as "Trump Accounts".
My kids are excited about investing.
We opened Trump Accounts for them.
The coolest part hasn't been the accounts.
It's been the conversations.
My 6- and 8-year-olds are already competing to see who can invest the most.
My 4-year-old just likes watching the digital piggy bank fill up.
Small lessons.
Small deposits.
The goal isn't to raise millionaires.
It's to raise wise stewards.
That's a legacy that lasts.
It's safe to say, I would pass on a Trump account.
Trump University already taught us what happens when his name is on the brochure. Does a $25 million settlement ring a bell?
I wish more Democrats would voice support for Trump Accounts.
Despite the name, the policy is widely bipartisan and has tremendous benefits for all Americans.
Three accounts compete for your kid's financial future right now: 529, custodial Roth, and the new Trump Account.
Each has a different tax treatment, withdrawal rule, and ceiling. We built @use_nino to help you find the right path and make the right financial decisions.
Taking advantage of the $1k free money in a new 530A IRA (i.e., Trump Account) makes sense to me.
Transferring $90,000+ to an 18-year old and inviting a 10% penalty is a recipe for disaster.

For years, I’ve fought to give every single American child a Baby Bond — a real foundation of wealth that grows with them.
Now those accounts are live.
This is how we redeem the American Dream. not just for some, but for every family, every child, and every future.
